Red Band Society Series Premiere – “Pilot” Spoiler-Free Advance Review. A Coming of Age Dramedy.

Red Band Society takes its name from the red hospital bracelets the kids wear. The first half of the season premiere is very lighthearted and funny despite the seriousness of the show’s premise. There is plenty of drama as well and combined, it makes for a very entertaining, heartfelt, coming-of-age tale. I’m sure some people won’t want to watch a show with such a maudlin topic but they’ll be missing out on a wonderful show that takes you on a journey with each character as they grow and learn about themselves. Red Band Society is a unique show with the potential to become a terrific new series for Fox. By the end of “Pilot,” you find yourself wanting to know what makes the characters tick.

Outlander –“Rent” Review. Prepare Yerself for a History Lesson.

While not the most action packed or progressive episode, “Rent” satisfies my curiosity. I’m enjoying the ride as we follow Claire through the Scottish countryside.

Falling Skies – Season Finale “Space Oddity” and “Shoot the Moon” Recap. The Good Fight.

Falling Skies takes us on an epic journey throughout its two-hour season four finale. From dreams to reality, we aren’t quite sure what’s real or just a façade, but one thing is clear, the humans are willing to fight to the death to rid themselves of the Espheni.

Outlander –“The Gathering” Review. Where Everyone’s Invited.

“The Gathering” does well to throw in a few action shots, dramatic moments, and heartfelt words to catch your attention. I don’t get all of the politics surrounding the pledging and whatnot, but I do enjoy the costumes, music, and set design.

Falling Skies – “Drawing Straws” Top Three Moments. Luck of the Draw.

“Drawing Straws” has a couple of Star Wars references. Like Pope telling Tom, “Sorry, I forgot your master plan – hijacking the Millennium Falcon out there and fly it to the moon.” While there are some similarities in the premise of Star Wars and Falling Skies, what Falling Skies does in this penultimate episode is remind you of the human spirit. But let’s play Devil’s advocate – what if the Espheni aren’t really evil aliens?

Outlander –“The Way Out” Review. It’s Not At The Bottom Of A Glass.

“The Way Out” opens with a touching scene, and ends with one filled with hope for our heroine. Who knows, maybe she’ll find her way out…

Falling Skies – “’Til Death Do Us Part” Top Three Moments. To the Moon, Alice!

Falling Skies continues along a familiar path – love conquers all. Whether it’s a father trying to save his children, a woman trying to save her man, or even being afraid to give in to love, “’Til Death Do Us Part” shows us that sometimes, love is all you need. Well, that and a way to get to the moon. A few guns wouldn’t hurt either.

Falling Skies – “A Thing with Feathers” Top Three Moments.

If you are hoping, because of the episode title, to see winged creatures swooping in, shaking their feathers at the rag tag group of survivors, you’ll be disappointed. But don’t fret. “A Thing with Feathers” is quite the entertaining and exciting episode, despite the lack of feathers. A lot goes on in “A Thing with Feathers.”

The Lottery –“Genie” Review. The Bodyguard is Awesome.

I thought The Lottery would focus on finding women to be surrogates to save humanity. While the miraculous fertilized embryos haven’t been pushed to the wayside, they are slowly becoming unimportant.

Suits – “Exposure” Retrospective. Needing Space.

The prodigal son returns as Mike (Patrick J. Adams) comes back to work at Pearson Specter. But not everyone is excited as Rachel (Meghan Markle) struggles to find answers about where her relationship with Mike stands. Will Mike and Rachel be able to work through their issues or will Mike’s return be short lived?

Falling Skies “Saturday Night Massacre” – Top Three Moments.

“Saturday Night Massacre” feels more like a penultimate episode rather than a regular one. With only ten episodes per season, we are inching closer to the fourth season finale, and if “Saturday Night Massacre” is any indication, more lives will be lost before any headway is made. Lexi (Scarlett Byrne) emerges from her cocoon, and while she still looks the same, she isn’t. Lexi’s powers have magnified exponentially and she’s chosen her Espheni family over her human family.

Suits – “We’re Done” Retrospective. One Wish.

After being fired from Sitwell Investment Group, Mike (Patrick J. Adams) tries to find himself as he contemplates his future. Seeking solace, he turns his focus to his relationship with Rachel (Meghan Markle), unaware of the secret eating away at her. Will Rachel’s kiss with her ex-lover, Logan Sanders (Brendan Hines), spell doom for their relationship or will Mike find it in himself to forgive her?

Suits – “Litt The Hell Up” Retrospective. Batman and…

The back and forth game of backstabbing continues in “Litt The Hell Up” as Mike (Patrick J. Adams) and Harvey (Gabriel Macht) press on in their battle to gain control of Gillis Industries. With each side digging in deeper, trying to one up the other, is there any end in sight?

Falling Skies “Mind Wars” – Top Three Moments.

Anne (Moon Bloodgood) has her hands full in the not so tranquil sanctuary of China Town. The Espheni overlord is playing a dirty mind game with poor Ben (Connor Jessup) and when Anne decides to stop playing nice, it’s Ben who bears the brunt. Lexi (Scarlett Byrne) does something quite shocking but I think we all knew it was going to happen sooner or later. Meanwhile, Tom (Noah Wyle), Weaver (Will Patton), and young Matt (Maxim Knight) are heading out to find where Hal (Drew Roy) and the rest of the crew went but are sidetracked when two men take Tom prisoner.

Ray Donovan – “Uber Ray” Review. A Dog with a Bone.

“Uber Ray” is another great episode of Ray Donovan, especially because so many different sides of Ray are shown. The current story lines are expanded upon, drawing viewers deeper into what makes Ray, Mickey, Abby, and the others tick. I must say, Ann-Margret is beautiful as always, and Malcomson is quite the knockout in that sexy, dominatrix-style lingerie she purchases.

Suits – “Pound of Flesh” Retrospective. The Merchant of Louis.

Mike (Patrick J. Adams) begins to question his alliance with billionaire financier Charles Forstman (Eric Roberts) as he continues to go head-to-head with Harvey (Gabriel Macht) to gain control of Gillis Industries. The two seem destined to go down a destructive path until Rachel (Meghan Markle) collapses at school. Will Rachel’s fall be enough to bring the two combatants together?

Dermot Mulroney (My Best Friend’s Wedding, Wedding Date, Must Love Dogs) has joined season five of the critically acclaimed hit SHOWTIME comedy series SHAMELESS, guest starring in a season-long story arc. Mulroney will play ex-bad boy and recovering addict Sean Pierce, Fiona’s (Emmy Rossum) new manager at Patsy’s Pies.

Married – Series Spoiler-Free Advance Review. Not My Cup of Tea

Series Premiere Airdate: Thursday, July 17, 2014, 10:00 pm ET/PT on FX Rating: [rating=2]   As an avid fan of FX Network and its various shows, I was really looking forward to watching Married, and was happy to receive the first four episodes for review purposes. 24: Live Another Day – “10:00 PM – 11:00 AM” Season Finale Recap. Heads Will Roll.

With the United States on the brink of war with China, and a sniper taking aim at Audrey (Kim Raver), will Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) be able to find Cheng (Tzi Ma) in time to save Audrey and stop the attack? It all comes to a head in the season finale of 24: Live Another Day.

Falling Skies – “Evolve or Die” Recap. Top 5 Moments.

Tom (Noah Wyle) and Weaver (Will Patton) finally learn where Tom’s youngest son Matt (Maxim Knight) is, courtesy of Cochise (Doug Jones). Tom leaves eldest son Hal (Drew Roy) in charge of the survivors but Hal’s command comes into question when supplies run low and Pope (Colin Cunningham) goes rogue. On his unsanctioned mission, Pope runs into trouble, whose name is Sara (guest star Mira Sorvino). Meanwhile, things in peaceful China Town are upended when Anne (Moon Bloodgood) questions her daughter Lexi’s (Scarlett Byrne) affiliation with the Espheni.

Ray Donovan Season 2 Premiere – “Yo Soy Capitán” Review. Problems Galore.

Season 2 of Ray Donovan opens with Ray (Liev Schreiber) in the midst of an extremely frightening dream. If your dreams are an extension of your real life, as some people say, I am worried about what’s in store for our favorite fixer this season. Ray’s way of proving he’s ok when he wakes up from the nightmare seems odd to me. Is it because he loves having that kind of sex with his wife Abby (Paula Malcolmson), or is it his way of dealing with the events of his childhood?

Suits – “Leveraged” Retrospective. Photoshop Engagement.

I have never been that big into music but recently, I have downloaded several of the songs used during Suits. “Leveraged” is no exception as the show opens with “Awake,” by Electric Guest. Watching Donna (Sara Rafferty) walk almost to the beat of the music, you feel a commanding presence oozing from her as she makes her way through Sidwell Investment Group to pay Mike (Patrick J Adams) a visit. She is a woman with a mission.

24: Live Another Day – “9:00 PM—10:00 PM” Recap. Russians, Chinese, and Jack, Oh My.

The gunfight between the Russians, Jack (Kiefer Sutherland), and Morgan (Yvonne Strahovski) grabs the attention of Cheng (Tzi Ma) and his men via the nearby camera feeds they are monitoring. By the time Jack and Morgan’s backup arrives and the Russian threat is taken down, Cheng escapes, but not before removing the tracking device Navarro (Benjamin Bratt) placed on the override device. Will Jack be able to track down Cheng before the Chinese retaliate against the United States for the attack on their ship, which Cheng was responsible for?

24: Live Another Day – “8:00 PM—9:00 PM” Recap

Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) continues his pursuit of Navarro (Benjamin Bratt) through the streets of London. When he finally catches up with him, Jack is stunned to discover Navarro no longer has the override device on him. Did Navarro stash the device that can take control of multiple weapons systems or worse, did he hand it off to someone else?
