Wendy Williams Departs – Recap, “Dancing with the Stars – The Result Show” Week 3

Dancing with the stars generic logo

Dancing with the Stars – The Result Show opened with the judges choosing to have Hines and Kym dance the wonderful Samba they danced last night, but before doing it, Tom Bergeron told them they were safe. Fabulous news, since Hines is one of my top three picks to win the Mirror Ball Trophy! Sugar …

Review, Nurse Jackie, Season 3, Episode 2 – “Enough Rope”

Directed beautifully by Steve Buscemi, fighting to keep friends is a recurrent theme throughout “Enough Rope.” Jackie (Edie Falco) is struggling to hold onto her best friend, Dr. O’Hara (Eve Best). Coop (Peter Facinelli) is trying to make amends with Sam (Arjun Gupta), while Eddie (Paul Schulze) wants to hold onto his friendship with Kevin (Dominic Fumusa), sans lies. And so it goes on another wonderful episode of “Nurse Jackie.”

Hines Ward Rises to the Top – Recap/Review – “Dancing with the Stars” – Week 3

This week, the dancers had to choose songs to dance to that mean something to them. To give everyone an idea of what the judges are looking for, the Dance Troupe started us off. Tristan and Nicole did a perfectly executed Paso Doble, while Ted and Peta danced a very sensual Rumba. Kiki and Oksana did a very lively Samba with some pretty awesome Samba rolls!

Review – The Killing, Season 1, Episode 1 – “The Cage”

AMC is fast becoming my favorite network for innovative television. Not only do they have the most incredible original series (“Mad Men,” “The Walking Dead”) but now they’re doing something new. “The Killing” is not your usual crime drama—it’s not what you expect.

Book Review: “Outlander” by Diana Gabaldon

“Outlander” is full of everything you could want in a good book and more. There’s history, sex, violence, implied sex, spirituality, spur of the moment sex, humor and suspense. Did I mention there was sex? Gabaldon doesn’t get too descriptive; she writes the *ahem* love scenes in a way that leaves it up to the reader’s imagination to fill in the gaps. And okay, there might not be that much violence, but there are some incidents that may make you squeamish.

Book Review: “The Girl with a Dragon Tattoo” by Stieg Larsson

A missing teenage girl, a down on his luck journalist and a punk, tattooed deviant are at the center of this mystery infused tale. The real twist is how all three are connected and what becomes of the mystery surrounding Sweden’s wealthy Vanger family. I have to be honest, I only purchased “The Girl with the …

Macchio Tonight’s Frontrunner – Recap/Review of “Dancing with the Stars” Season 12, Episode 1

Dancing with the stars generic logo

It seems like forever since ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” was on, but of course, that’s not true. I have just been jonesing for my dance fix as I always do this time of year. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed by the season premiere at all. In fact, I was surprised the competitors were as good as they were, considering not one of them had any prior dance experience. We had it all tonight – grace, magic, performance, entertainment, clumsiness, flat-footedness, stiffness and DANCE!

Music Review – Steve Martin’s New Album, “Rare Bird Alert”

Steve Martin, actor extraordinaire, is and has long been one of my all-time favorite actors – in both the comedic and dramatic arenas. While somewhere in the dregs of my memory I thought he had won an Emmy for something, I was surprised when I saw him today on ABC’s “The View,” promoting his latest album, “Rare Bird Alert,” which was released a few days ago on March 15, 2011.

Review: Raising Hope, Season 1, Ep. 16 “The Cultish Personality”

Virginia is aghast and Burt can only mutter “Neat. Neat. Neat stuff.” Baby Hope finds it all amusing. Say what you want about the Chances, but they subscribe to monogamy and aren’t keen on telling Bruce where his son has been all this time.

REVIEW: Justified, Season 2, Ep. 5 “Cottonmouth”

“The Hillbilly Whisperer.” That’s what Art (Nick Searcy) calls Raylan (Timothy Olyphant) when the state police come asking for Raylan’s assistance in Harlan County. To say a smile crept up on my face is an understatement. I laughed out loud!

Review – “White Collar” Season Finale, “Under the Radar,” S02, Ep 16

While being a long-time fan of “White Collar” and its interesting and fascinating weekly escapades, I have to say I was a bit let down by the Season 2 finale, “Under the Radar.” I was expecting more excitement, more intrigue, more something—but it didn’t happen.

Review/Recap – “Royal Pains” – Season 2, Episode 18 – Season Finale

I am a loyal fan of “Royal Pains” and truly enjoy watching the show each week. So you can imagine how sad I am that this season has come to a close. True, we got answers to mostly all of the burning questions we had about the season as a whole, but to me, “Listen to the Music” was more like a series finale rather than a season finale. Given that the first season finale was so exciting, to say I was disappointed in this second season finale is putting it mildly.

Advance Review – Shedding for the Wedding, Season 1, Episode 1

The CW Network has jumped into the reality diet craze that has been inhabiting our television sets of late with their latest offering, “Shedding for the Wedding,” which premieres Wednesday, February 23rd at 9:00 pm ET, immediately following the season 16 premiere of “America’s Next Top Model.”
