Review: Justified, S4 "Where's Waldo?" (U.S. Marshals stands for "perverts" in Harlan) 1

If you thought living in a small southern town was boring, you ain’t been to Harlan, KY yet. It’s a veritable cornucopia of sex, drugs, booze, and danger. Will Preacher Billy (Joe Mazello) be the town’s salvation or will he be another obstacle in the way of Boyd’s (Walton Goggins) grand vision for Harlan?

Review: House of Lies "Stochasticity" (And I Still Don't Know What That Means) 6

The season two opener of House of Lies was good. It wasn’t great; wasn’t horrible either, but it lacked that special something. Season one emerged with a bang, hooking me instantly. The show was fresh, new and hilarious. This time around, eh… not so much.

Next Stop on the TWCS Blog Tour... Book Review: Eire's Captive Moon by Sandi Layne 7

I expected Eire’s Captive Moon to go out with a bang considering this is the first in a trilogy. It left me wanting and not interested in reading the next installment.

Mommy Dearest. Review: American Horror Story: Asylum, S2 Ep 11 - "Spilt Milk" 8

When Lana returns to take the Sister from Briarcliff, he tells her Sister Jude hanged herself, and shows the death certificate as proof. What a little sh*t! He’s become emboldened now that Dr. Arden is dead and there’s no threat of anyone finding out about the doctor’s monstrous experiments on the patients. The measly little monsignor should’ve died on that cross.

Review: Justified, S4 Ep. 401 "Hole in the Wall" ('Truth' Will Be Revealed) 10

“Hole in the Wall,” leaves many doors open with an interesting peek inside that I am fervently ready to explore. All the new additions to the cast make for an unexpectedly fascinating dynamic that we haven’t seen yet. With Arlo misbehaving in prison, causing quite a shocking turn of events and the end of this first episode marks the beginning of an explosive new season of Justified.

Patient G2573. Review: American Horror Story: Asylum, S2 Ep 10 - "The Name Game" 12

Her duty as Grace’s (Lizzie Brocheré) protector feels a little out of place. I mean, why Pepper and not one of the other patients? We do learn why she ended up at Briarcliff but a deeper exploration of her background would’ve fleshed out her character more. I suspect, though, the writers have placed more import on the main characters now that American Horror Story: Asylum is drawing to a close.

Not Another One! Book Review: "Bettie Page Presents: the Librarian" by Logan Belle 13

While The Librarian is not the greatest literary fiction I’ve ever read, beyond its faults it is still readable without too many eye rolls.

My IQ Has Dropped A Few Points... Book Review: Thoughtless by S.C. Stephens 14

I find Thoughtless to be an asinine study in infidelity, selfishness and low self esteem. Yes, I’m talking about the dimwitted heroine, Kiera. I wouldn’t recommend this book to anyone.

Two Funerals and A Bombing. Retrospective: Homeland – “The Choice”

Two Funerals and A Bombing. Retrospective: Homeland - "The Choice" 15

As season finales go, “The Choice” does a decent job of wrapping up this season and setting the tone for the next. And while the first half hour is a bit tedious, the last half hour makes up for it. I guess we’ll never know who the mole was but at this point, who cares?

Don’t Get On Klaus’s Bad Side… Review: The Vampire Diaries “O Come All Ye Faithful”

Don't Get On Klaus's Bad Side... Review: The Vampire Diaries "O Come All Ye Faithful" 16

Besides stealing the show, Klaus brings excitement to this mid-season finale, which would have otherwise floundered. A very nice way send-off for the winter break, “O Come All Ye Faithful” brings light to things long kept in the dark.

It's a Sopranos/O.K. Corral Mashup! Review: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - "The Gang Dines Out" 17

While Mac (Rob McElhenney) and Dennis (Glenn Howerton) are having their “monthly dinner” at Guigino’s, one of Philadelphia’s finer eating establishments, Charlie (Charlie Day) and Frank (Danny DeVito) walk in to celebrate their one-year anniversary of living together. What none of them realizes is Dee (Kaitlin Olson) is at a table of her own. What ensues as the four men try to outdo each other has me chuckling deep down to my very core.

A Realistic (Yet Skewed) View of the Fairytale. Book Review: The Cracked Slipper by Stephanie Alexander 18

With more polishing of the plot and characters, this novel could have been much more enjoyable.

A Talk with American Horror Story: Asylum’s Jessica Lange

The younger generation may not be familiar with Jessica Lange’s earlier work, but in a recent telephone interview on December 7, she says she’s grateful for the wider viewing audience for American Horror Story: Asylum, in which she portrays the tortured Sister Jude.

What's Dead Is Then Alive. Retrospective: American Horror Story: Asylum, S2 Ep 9 - "The Coat Hanger" 19

Sister Jude might be in shackles now, stripped of her clerical standing, but she’s allowed some room to roam the asylum. I’m counting the days until Sister Jude uses her wits to turn the place upside down. Just because she’s out of her nun’s habit doesn’t mean her power as a woman has diminished any.
