A Bald Eagle, A Birth and a Suicide Attempt. Review: Shameless – “Just Like the Pilgrims Intended” @SHO_Kareem

As the penultimate episode of the second season of Shameless, “Just Like the Pilgrims Intended” packs a punch. It’s filled with happiness, sadness, surprises and a lot of sex. As a matter of fact, the amount of screwing that goes on in this episode is amazing.

Movie Review: Lionsgate’s “The Hunger Games”

I just have to come out and say it: I didn’t love this movie. I liked it, thought it was good in putting across the substance of Suzanne Collins’ novel, but felt some major points were left out. I wanted to love this film with a desperation you can’t understand because of my love for the novel. Sometimes things don’t always work out the way we want.

It Takes a Village to Raise a Child. Review: In Plain Sight – “Four Marshals and a Baby” @InPlainSight_USA

“Four Marshals and a Baby” is nothing if not entertaining. It is so much fun watching Stan (Paul Ben-Victor), Marshall (Frederick Weller) and even Susan (Mädchen Amick), a WITSEC politico, cooing to and cuddling baby Norah. Poor Mary (Mary McCormack), she’s so much better at her job than she is at parenting.

News: Ciaran Hinds Joins the Cast of USA Network’s “Political Animals”

As if the six-hour political series Political Animals didn’t already have a stellar cast, USA and Warner Horizon Television have amped up the star power by adding acclaimed actor Ciaran Hinds (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Debt, Munich, Rome) to the series.

To The Other Side… Review: The Vampire Diaries “Break on Through”

I’m still waiting for the defining episode for this season. Hopefully we’ll get it next week because this week’s episode doesn’t do much for me.

Why Does Jess Fall Into the Koi Pond? Review: New Girl “Fancyman Pt. 1”

Focusing on one person, one plot per episode, works. Having all the characters doing their own thing is disjointed and isn’t entertaining.

Review: #JustifiedFX “Guy Walks into a Bar” (…and the bartender says…)

While there are elements in “Guy Walks into a Bar” that nearly knock me on my ass with their audacity, there are also moments of mediocrity. In the end, I’m giving the episode four stars because of its surprising, bare naked ending. With the surprising ending and the mano a mano showdown between Quarles and Raylan, I really hope the last few episodes amp up the intensity and drama. Quite frankly, these little tidbits here and there are starting to piss me off.

Review: Alcatraz – “Webb Porter” – “When Stone Cold Killers are Patients.”

Webb Porter (Rami Malek) survived his mother’s drowning attempt when he was six years old, but it’s left him with Tinnitus–a perpetual ringing in his ears which not only torments him but sets him off to murder women. Will his re-emergence in San Francisco result in more deaths or could it save someone’s life?

Just When You Think You’ve Seen It All… Review: Vampire Mob – Season 2

If you haven’t heard of Vampire Mob, get with the program because you’re missing out on something special. The episodes average about five minutes in length, but don’t let that fool you. There’s plenty of comedy packed into each short.

Review: 2 Broke Girls – “And the Spring Break” – Wanna Dog Sit?

It doesn’t take long for Sophie (Jennifer Coolidge) and Oleg (Jonathan Kite) to hook up. She’s embarrassed at being caught with unkempt hair and clothes, exiting the diner kitchen by way of the back door … but why?

Review: Lost Girl – “The Mourning After” – Partner in Crime?

Kenzi handles it all with aplomb, practically running the investigation herself. Trick’s secretive nature won’t cave in, though, even after Kenzi says, “Takes a con to know a con. You’ve got secrets, Trickster.”

A Break-up, Oppressive Heat, and Bernadette Peters! Review: Smash – “The Workshop”

So the day has come for the prospective investors to watch the workshop for “Marilyn: The Musical” and hopefully come up with the money necessary to take the production to Broadway. Along the way, however, there are some stumbling blocks—much like there are in real life. That’s one of the things I love about Smash. It doesn’t shy away from depicting the realities of Broadway.

Check out this new video interview with Andrew Lincoln (Rick), Sarah Wayne Callies (Lori), Laurie Holden (Andrea), and Norman Reedus (Daryl) if you want a glimpse of what’s next for The Walking Dead.

News: “On Lexington & 52nd Street,” Tonight’s Featured Song from Smash, Now Available for Download in the iTunes Store

How fabulous is it to be able to be able to download the featured songs from Smash each week the same day the episode airs? NBC Universal Television Consumer Products and Columbia Records continues this offer with “On Lexington & 52nd Street,” from “The Workshop,” tonight’s episode of Smash at 10/9 c on NBC.

Monica Goes on a Downward Spiral. Review: Shameless – “A Great Cause”

“A Great Cause” is a perfect example of no matter how much things seem to change, they remain the same. Unfortunately, Fiona (Emily Rossum) learns that the hard way, as does Monica (Chloe Webb) and Sheila (Joan Cusack). We discover the surprising, but ugly truth about Mandy’s (Emma Greenwell) pregnancy, and Steve (Justin Chatwin) tries desperately to bring Estefania’s (Stephanie Fantauzzi) lover, Marco (Thierre DiCastro), to the United States.

Book Review: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

I highly recommend this novel to anyone who may be looking for something slightly off the beaten path in the way of YA novels. A strong heroine, extreme living conditions and unpredictable outcomes help The Hunger Games stand out from other dystopian novels of its kind. This is the first in a series of three and by far the best. I’ll leave it to you to decide what you think about the other two books in The Hunger Games saga.

Welcome to Zombieland! I mean, Atlanta… Review: The Walking Dead “Beside the Dying Fire”

I’m beyond excited about season three. I can’t even put my thoughts into words to express how insane the revelations are, the final shot of the prison (survival at last for the group?!), and Rick growing a pair of balls and laying down the law of the land.

I Knew There Was A Catch To Those Rings… Review: The Vampire Diaries “1912”

The focus of “1912” isn’t really on the founding council killer; it’s on the Salvatore brothers. They do have a bond. It’s been broken, tried and tested, and now they’re working to repair it.

The Vampire Diaries Panel at Paleyfest 2012 (#TVD)

To say I was excited to attend The Vampire Diaries panel at Paleyfest is an understatement. Being a fan of a show and then having the opportunity to see some of your favorite cast members up close is a thrill! Being able to see their sense of humor and personalities, aside from their characters, there isn’t anything better for a fan (except maybe to touch Ian Somerhalder or have him put his arm around you when you take a photo with him and confess your unquenchable lust…)
