Review: Terra Nova - "Instinct" (Who Let The Birds Out?) 1

I wasn’t bored during “Instinct” but I wasn’t wowed. I don’t want to say Terra Nova is losing its steam, yet I don’t feel the same about it as I did during the series premiere.

Review: Hung, Season 3 Premiere - "Don't Give Up Detroit or Hung Like a Horse" 2

Expect the usual comedy, full frontal female nudity and awesome Tanya moments only Hung can bring. We’re off to a great start this season and I’m looking forward to what’s to come.

Review: The Vampire Diaries - "The End of the Affair" (What Was Up With Stefan's Hair?) 3

“The End of the Affair” is a solid episode, especially with the flashbacks to the ‘20s. Along with new discoveries and a little suspense, there’s a new vampire (an original at that) in town.

Book Review: "The Wonder Spot" by Melissa Bank 4

Here is yet another Melissa Bank novel I couldn’t put down. Simply put, I loved it. I don’t know how else to explain my feelings other than that.

Review: New Girl, S1, E2 - "Kryptonite" (Who's the New Guy?) 5

Um… I had such high hopes for New Girl. I miss Damon Wayans Jr. more than I thought I would. “Kryptonite” does absolutely nothing for me. I’ve watched the episode three times and I don’t think I laughed once.

Review: Terra Nova, S1, E1 - "Genesis, Pt. 2" 6

The second half of “Genesis” answers a few questions I have but leaves me with quite a few more: the Sixers have an agenda (though we’re not sure what it is yet); Terra Nova isn’t exactly what it seems; and the alien scratchings aren’t alien at all.

Advance Review: Bravo's Mad Fashion, S1, E1 - "Shoegasm" (Please Don't Hurt the Shoes!) 7

For a season premiere, the pilot is good. I was looking for more drama but then I realized this isn’t your typical reality show. If you want to know the ins and outs of what happens in a designer’s shop, this is the show for you.

Review: The Vampire Diaries S3, Ep. 2 “The Hybrid”

Review: The Vampire Diaries S3, Ep. 2 "The Hybrid" 8

I think it’s safe to say The Vampire Diaries is the best supernatural/vampire/werewolf show on TV. Yes, even better than True Blood, the show which—to me—should still be able to claim that title.

Book Review: "The Sugar Queen" by Sarah Addison Allen 9

Yes, I can affirmatively declare Sarah Addison Allen is one of my favorite authors. I’m beyond absorbed by the magic she sprinkles delicately through each of her romantic novels.

Review: The Vampire Diaries, S3, E1 - "The Birthday" (What Happened to the Cake?) 14

“The Birthday” is a great way to kick off season three. It kept me interested, wanting to learn more and happy to see the cast back for a new season.

Advance Review: Terra Nova, S1, E1 – “Genesis: Part 1”

Advance Review: Terra Nova, S1, E1 - "Genesis: Part 1" 16

This show truly is Jurassic Park meets 24 with a bit of family drama thrown in. There are dinosaurs, family drama and suspense which almost strangles you with anticipation.

Review: The Closer, S7, E10 - "Fresh Pursuit" (Mazaratis, Murder and Mayhem) 17

While not a heavy duty cliffhanger, the ending of “Fresh Pursuit” leaves me thinking Brenda is in more trouble than she’s ever been. I don’t know what tricks Gavin will have up his sleeve to get her out of this one.

Review: True Blood Season Finale, S4, E12 - "And When I Die" (I Ain't Scared of No Ghost!) 18

I expected more from True Blood because that’s what I got before—great entertainment, funny one-liners and top of the line plots that actually led somewhere. So, this is me shaking my head at season four asking, “Now why couldn’t the entire season have been like the finale?”

Book Review: “The Observations” by Jane Harris

Book Review: "The Observations" by Jane Harris 19

“The Observations” is Bessy’s account of her life, written in her own words. You see the change in Bessy through each passing chapter, which ends up being a few years—the length of time it has taken her to write everything down. Her speech in the beginning is almost incomprehensible, sloppy and surprisingly hilarious.

Advance Review: New Girl, S1, E1 - "Pilot" (Three Men and a Hilarious Little Lady) 20

If you’ve seen the previews for the pilot episode of New Girl, you know what to expect. But I should stress the show is funnier than the few scenes glimpsed over the past month building up the hype for the series premiere. It’s worth your time and you will laugh out loud.

Review: The Closer, S7, E9 – “Star Turn”

Review: The Closer, S7, E9 - "Star Turn" 21

I can’t believe the summer is over and yet another finale is coming our way. I’m sure it will be fantastic, as only The Closer can be.

Review: True Blood, S7, E47 – “Soul of Fire”

Review: True Blood, S7, E47 - "Soul of Fire" 22

The ending of “Soul of Fire” is unexpected and I like that. I must say I was caught off guard and didn’t think things would go the way they did. I do see quite a few side stories making themselves known: the shifter/Were alliance, the appearance of more Fae, and the dreaded love triangle (the who-loves-Sookie-more-showdown continues).

Read the Review and Watch Full Episode: Smithsonian Channel Presents - "9/11: Stories in Fragments" 23

How do you grasp an event as enormous as September 11? At the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, you start small: A briefcase, a Blackberry, a victim’s sweatshirt, and a hero’s nametag. Simple objects that tell personal stories, recounted in the donors’ own words.

Book Review: “The Girls’ Guide to Hunting and Fishing” by Melissa Bank

Book Review: "The Girls' Guide to Hunting and Fishing" by Melissa Bank 24

Bank has been called a Chic Lit author, but I don’t believe that’s true. Yes, her main character is female and we see the world through her eyes, but does that make it a book only for women? No.

Review: The Closer, S7, E8 – “Death Warrant”

Review: The Closer, S7, E8 - "Death Warrant" 25

Overall, I enjoyed “Death Warrant” but felt it was a bit of a transition episode. It clearly displayed Pellegrino’s comedic range while showcasing the smooth bravado he portrayed as Jacob on Lost.
