When Will Linden Learn? Review: The Killing “Keylala”

Day twenty begins with smiles, breakfast burritos, and butterflies. Too bad it doesn’t end on such a happy note.

Movie Review: Roadside Attractions’ “Tonight You’re Mine “

TONIGHT YOU’RE MINE is a free-wheeling rock ‘n’ roll love story set against the raucous magnificence and unforgettable sounds at a leading music festival — The T in the Park festival in Kinross-shire, Scotland.

“…blonde ladies don’t age well.” Review: The Big C, S3 Ep. 305 “Face Off”

“Face Off” is not a completely light-hearted episode. There are a few humorous moments but overall, the episode tends to lean on the emotionally weighty side. Adam (Gabriel Basso) finally sounds off about his feelings regarding his parent’s decision to adopt a baby. It’s one of the refreshing reasons why I love The Big C. They don’t hold back on the real emotions when they write these scripts and the actors give wonderful performances as they convey a range of feelings – sadness, madness, happiness, frustration, guilt, and love.

Jackie is still in a serious state of denial. Review: Nurse Jackie, S4 E5 – “One-Eyed Jacks”

Let me start with a question: OMG, how many shoes does Dr. O’Hara (Eve Best) have?! I know she has a thing for them, but really? Jackie (Edie Falco) doesn’t seem at all phased by the massive collection when she takes O’Hara the Disney-shaped pancakes she made for Fiona (Mackenzie Aladjem) and Grace (Ruby Jerins), who Jackie forgot were with Kevin (Dominic Fumusa).

A Very Fitting Ending. Review: Series Finale of In Plain Sight – “All’s Well That Ends Well”

We’ve enjoyed five exciting seasons of In Plain Sight, all filled with interesting witnesses and stories, family drama, love interests, and (Mary McCormack) witticisms. So, I was hopeful the series finale would continue along those lines and I’m happy to say, it does. “All’s Well That Ends Well” does a great job of giving us everything we want while bringing closure to the storylines we’ve faithfully followed over the years. Not the least of which is Mary and Marshall’s (Frederick Weller) relationship. All’s well does, indeed, end well and I loved every minute of it.

Captain Black Sparrow to the Rescue! Review: New Girl “Backslide”

I loved “Backslide.” It is engaging, witty, and refreshing. Nick and Caroline’s made up dance to Jess’ I’m-depressed-let-me-wallow-in-self-pity song is surprisingly hilarious.

Vampires Should Fear the Sun! Review: The Vampire Diaries “Before Sunset”

There is excitement and intrigue as we find our resident badass has a plan to make a break for it with the ever unprotected doppelganger. “Before Sunset” is literally heart stopping indeed, but leaves viewers wondering “What now?”

TV News: AMC Greenlights Pilots – Low Winter Sun and Untitle LaGravenese & Goldwyn Project

New York, NY – May 3, 2012 – AMC announced today pilot orders for “Low Winter Sun” and the “Untitled LaGravenese & Goldwyn Project” marking the first time the network has greenlit two scripted pilots at the same time. “Low Winter Sun” is a co-production between Endemol Studios and AMC Studios.

Mr. Sandman, Bring Me A…Nightmare? Review: Lost Girl “Scream a Little Dream”

The real nitty gritty of “Scream a Little Dream” is when Frank (Jason Blicker), a hotel doorman, asks Bo and Kenzi for help. It seems all the tenants in his hotel have gone mad. But Bo gets more than she bargained for when she gets tangled up with the sinister Dark Fae species known as The Mare. Connie, The Mare (Kristina Pesic), not only gives you nightmares, she feeds off the fear they provoke.

TV News: Cinemax Announces Production on its Second Action Series, Banshee

If Cinemax’s Strike Back is any indication of what the network can offer in the way of exciting and mesmerizing entertainment, then its new action series Banshee is sure to be a big hit. Brought by such industry giants as Alan Ball (True Blood, Six Feet Under), Greg Yaitanes (House, Lost), Peter Macdissi (Towelhead, Six Feet Under), Jonathan Tropper (author of the New York Times bestseller “This Is Where I Leave You”), and David Schickler (author of “Kissing in Manhattan” and “Sweet and Vicious”), Banshee has begun production in and around Charlotte, NC. The series’ first season will have ten hour-long episodes and will premiere on Cinemax in 2013.

Cheating, Reconciling, and a Failed Marriage Proposal. Photos and Review: Smash – “Tech” @NBCSmash

Tech, or should I say technical, issues are at the heart of “Bombshell” after the production heads to Boston and loses its Joe DiMaggio. From a desk being too large, a leading lady with a bad case of the nerves, a director who can’t keep his hands off said leading lady, and a failed marriage proposal, “Tech” presents an excellent look at what can go wrong with a Broadway production before it actually reaches Broadway. Talk about an awful lot of drama!

Review: Girls – “All Adventurous Women Do” – One’s Authentic Self and the Evil Fruity Little Voice

What kind of man plays with a woman’s jelly rolls and asks if she eats for fun post-sex? Answer: the type of man who is douchebag enough to irresponsibly lie about transmitting STDs. The OB-GYN has bad news for Hannah (Lena Dunham). Who is to blame for her condition and will her diagnosis cause a ruckus in her life?

Book Review: The Lost Gate by Orson Scott Card

Surprisingly, I loved The Lost Gate. Granted, it took me quite a while to get into it because I wasn’t sure where Card was going with the story—but once I became engrossed in the tale, I really enjoyed it.

TV News: The Killing – Interview with Billy Campbell (Councilman Darren Richmond)

Billy Campbell sits down with AMC for a chat about Season 2 of The Killing.

There’s A Reason I Stay Away From Cow Juice Review: Veep “Frozen Yoghurt”

The Veep finally gets what she wants—her fifteen minutes in the West Wing—and it makes me excited for her. Only things don’t exactly go the way she wants and she ends up having a “yoghurt” mishap.

“…vengeance is patient. It can wait a lifetime…” Review: The Borgias “Stray Dogs”

After pulling off one of the grandest of ruses, Cesare (François Arnaud) gets bad news from his trusted abettor, the cunning and ruthless Micheletto (Sean Harris). Micheletto doesn’t think highly of himself, which is evident when he acknowledges Cesare as his “master” as if he were a “stray dog.” Cesare, however, seems very interested in finding more people like Micheletto – men who are not fearful of getting their hands filthy.

“I’m a better Willy Wanker…” Review: The Big C “Family Matters”

“…I’m the Steve Blow-Jobs and the Mark F**kerberg of the gay phone sex industry!” ~ Sean – How can you not want to read a review after reading a quote like that? If I could start out my review with LMFAO, I would but instead I’ll tell you that “Family Matters” is one of the funniest episodes I’ve seen in all the seasons of The Big C.

A “F*ck It” List and a Possible Penis Fracture. Review: Nurse Jackie – “Slow Growing Monsters”

What starts out as a serious episode quickly turns hilarious. They say laughter is the best medicine and if it’s true, those watching “Slow Growing Monsters” will be instantly cured. This is one of the best episodes so far this season. The writers are at the top of their game with the fantastic sharp and witty dialogue.

Alaric’s No Buffy, But A Super Vampire Slayer? Review: The Vampire Diaries “Do Not Go Gentle”

I wasn’t sure what to expect with “Do Not Go Gentle” because I try not to get my hopes up too high. The episode is OK, but lacks any real oomph.

McMouse is the Star of the Show! Review: New Girl “Tomatoes”

“Tomatoes” is one of the funnier episodes of New Girl to date. I just about laughed at every gag, line and character.

TV News: Syfy Ignites the Imagination with Most Original Primetime Programming Hours in History

Syfy and Chiller President Dave Howe today ignited the imagination of the advertising community by unveiling the next phase of the channel’s largest original programming slate in history. This will feature Syfy’s most original primetime hours ever, a record 28 scripted and reality development projects.

A Bollywood Fantasy. Review: Smash – “Publicity” @NBCSmash

Rebecca (Uma Thurman) is up to her old antics trying to replace songs with scenes, which highly annoys Tom (Christian Borle). And she befriends Karen (Katharine McPhee)—for what purpose I’m not quite sure. Derek (Jack Davenport) tells Karen he sees her as Marilyn in his hallucinations, admitting she should be the one playing the role. Leo (Emory Cohen) runs away, and Eileen’s (Angelica Huston) boyfriend and almost ex-husband come face to face. Such is the entertaining episode known as “Publicity.”

Stag Hunt, Anyone? Review: Lost Girl – “I Fought the Fae (and the Fae Won)”

Bo’s heart is breaking so she’s going to fight harder to reunite the star-crossed lovers. The thing is, to me, this storyline is boring, along with seeking The Ash’s replacement. I couldn’t care less about it, and was more interested in seeing some sort of peace happening between Bo and Dyson.

Review: Girls – “Vagina Panic” – Hanna Almost Came and Charlie Has a Low Sperm Count

There couldn’t be a more appropriate title than “Vagina Panic” for the second episode of HBO’s Girls. If I had a sex life similar to Hannah (Lena Dunham), Jessa (Jemima Kirke), Shoshanna (Sosia Manet) and Marnie (Allison Williams), my vagina would also be panicking; it might even be hysterical!

Stan Is Soooo Not The Man! Review: The Killing “Ghosts of the Past”

Not much more is learned this week but “Ghosts of the Past” is a solid showing.
