TV Clip: The Americans – “Go Undercover: Mother Russia”

With new episodes of The Americans airing Wednesdays at 10 pm ET/PM, FX is now giving the show’s fans a chance to “go undercover” with its characters. You’ve experienced the dangers of Philip and Elizabeth’s American life, now Go Undercover to learn how their Russian background helped shape their characters.

The Hunt for an Assassin. Review: The Americans – “Mutually Assured Destruction”

It saddens me to say I was disappointed with “Mutually Assured Destruction.” While it moves Philip and Elizabeth’s relationship along, albeit not in an area I care for, it is more a filler episode than anything else. It moves slowly in parts, and is nothing like I expected it to be.

The Battle of Bloody Porch? Review: Justified – “Decoy”

Well, now that Drew Thompson, aka Shelby, is in Marshal custody, it’s an all out war between the Marshals and Theo Tonin’s men, with Boyd in tow. Although Theo is absent, his guys are brazen in thinking they are going to get into a stand-off with U.S. Marshals over a fugitive who’s been on the Feds most wanted list for over 30 years.

Conference Call with THE AMERICANS Matthew Rhys

Question: If Philip had a gun with one bullet and he was in a room with both Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev, who do you think he would shoot? Answer: Oh, God, that’s an incredible question for a number of reasons. I think where we meet Philip, he has this great capacity for violence and murder, but I think in his heart he is a good guy….

Bloody Reunion. Retrospective: Lost Girl – “Ceremony”

How she has the wherewithal to resist is beyond me, because she hasn’t fed for a while and is definitely weak from hunger. The Fae may not be particularly fond of humans, but Stella disrespecting Bo’s close relationship with Kenzi makes me quite angry. If Stella feels this way about humans, then what of her opinion of Lauren?

Interview: “The Walking Dead’s” Chad L. Coleman Talks About His Character Tyreese

The Walking Dead, Sundays at 9/8c only on AMC.

The Gov Is That Cray Cray… Review: The Walking Dead – “Prey”

I can’t say I loved “Prey.” In fact, I don’t think it did anything but reassure me that the Governor is beyond insane. Add in his being a vengeful sociopath and you’ve really got trouble.

Frank Becomes Famous. Review: Shameless – “Frank the Plumber”

Gay rights and relationships are at the forefront of this week’s installment of Shameless. “Frank the Plumber” gives us a mixed bag of good and bad feelings, and at the end, fear. Fear that Lip (Jeremy Allen White) will return to Karen’s (Laura Slade Wiggins) side to nurse her back to health after initially telling her they’re over. But I’m getting ahead of myself… Frank (William H. Macy), the face of the gay rights movement? Say it ain’t so!

A Coming of Age Tale. Movie Review: My Brother the Devil

El Hosaini does an incredible job of putting a fresh face on a tired genre, treating her characters with respect, and providing us with a compelling tale of character development on two different levels. While the film has been marketed as ruthless gang fare, it is anything but. It is more a coming-of-age tale that deals with wanting, being powerless, and a struggle for sexual identity. This is a film that is not to be missed; my advice – go see it as soon as it is available.

Pheromones Gone Wild! Review: Grimm – “Natural Born Wesen”

Last we saw, Nick (David Giuntoli) drank the thick, white potion to help his beloved Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) break her lust-spell with Captain Sean Renard (Sasha Roiz). But if you were expecting magical fairy dust and ‘bibbity-bobbity-boop, the curse is broken,’ you were wrong, and thankfully so.

Lost Your Faith? Don’t Watch Alone. Movie Review: 6 Souls (Julianne Moore, Jonathan Rhys Meyers)

6 Souls is a film that makes you question your faith and beliefs—what is real and what isn’t. That question could drive anyone mad. Regardless of your religious views, this film is highly entertaining; it will leave you seeking comfort if you dared to watch it alone. But even if you view 6 Souls with company, you may be rushing to turn a few lights on. My advice, don’t watch this alone.

Is This The New Normal? Review: The Vampire Diaries – “Bring It On”

I am sorely disappointed in “Bring It On.” It didn’t really… bring it. Something has been lost and it isn’t just the cure for immortality. At least the music is good.

News: Katey Sagal Takes Music and Sons of Anarchy Cast on the Road

It’s been several decades since Katey Sagal sang back-up for Bob Dylan, Bette Milder and Etta James, but the Sons of Anarchy star says that in spite of her success as an actress, music is still her true passion. A Flame Never Burns Out. Review: The Americans – “Duty and Honor”

In “Duty and Honor,” Philip works with a former love, Irina (Marina Squerciati), now renamed Anne, to frame Andrzej Bielawski (Andrzej Krukowski), a former Communist hero of Poland. It seems that putting a pretty woman in front of a man will make him forget the ever-important job at hand.

Dry Rub. Review: Psych – “Lassie Jerky”

The other day, I was tweeting that I’m not a fan of episodes directed by James Roday (who plays Shawn Spencer). It prompted a reply from Terry Goldman, Director of Social Media for USA Network who asked, “Why in particular? His directing always pays great homage to classic films.” I told Mr Goldman those episodes reminded me of the Sesame Street song, “One of These Things is Not Like the Other.”
