Not So Little Blue Men – Are Aliens Invading Portland? Retrospective: Grimm – “Endangered”

There are three key story lines in this episode — blue guy who’s extracting only cow ovaries (Yes, ovaries! What a waste of all that prime sirloin! *smacks lips*); Nick (David Giuntoli) finally telling Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) (after Nick Fuchsbau-blocked him) about the key he inherited from his aunt—something that Monroe knows more about than Nick could have imagined; lastly, Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) remembering an entire evening with Nick, including her love for him… with a catch. But isn’t there always a catch?

A Sober Jackie is a Happy Jackie. Review: Nurse Jackie – “Smile”

It’s so nice to see Jackie and Kevin connecting again, making little jokes to each other and looking like the Jackie and Kevin of old, instead of carping at each other as has been the norm since Kevin found out Jackie was addicted to drugs. Why, oh why, do the writers take this away from us after a mere five minutes? I had such hope for them. I suppose it’s so Jackie can connect with Sergeant Frank Verelli (Adam Ferrara), who comes to the hospital to take her statement.

The Originals. Er… Review: The Vampire Diaries – “The Originals”

Maybe it’s just me, but “The Originals” comes across as a spin-off pilot that lacks a little something.

Season seven has really been Juliet’s (Maggie Lawson) year, from entire episodes that focused on her and her character growth, to her kicking ass and saving the day. “Juliet Wears the Pantsuit” is no exception, especially since we get what looks like not only one Juliet, but two.

Secrets Revealed. Review: The Americans – “The Oath”

We’ve spent quite a bit of time examining the parallels between the Americans and the Soviets during the Cold War, and “The Oath” does a good job of continuing in that vein. It explores the similarities and differences between Martha (Alison Wright) and Clark/Philip’s (Matthew Rhys) friendship, and Stan’s (Noah Emmerich) relationship with Nina (Annet Mahendru), and shocks me with some of the outcomes.

Mama Saves the Day. Retrospective: Lost Girl Season Finale – “Those Who Wander”

It’s quite the detour seeing a human side to a member of the Dark Fae’s protective squad because we never get a chance to hate them. Instead, they’re intimidating hulks so it’s nice to see someone have an actual conversation with Bruce. He’s the one who tells Kenzi she was protected from The Morrigan by the Twig of Zamora.

Problems arise when Hannah (Sarah Steele), one of last week’s bus crash victims, returns to All Saints with sepsis, which she contracted at the hospital, and Zoey (Merritt Wever) cheerfully volunteers to be the hand wash monitor.
