The Strain – “The Disappeared” Review. Holy Bat Caves!
Holy bat caves, Batman, “The Disappeared” is darker than an underground lair! There are many revelations during this episode, and we finally get to see The Master (Robert Maillet). “The Disappeared” picks up after Matt (Drew Nelson) was attacked at his place of employment. We know new strigoi go back to their loved ones to feed so what Matt, Kelly’s (Natalie Brown) new live-in boyfriend, does isn’t unexpected. Needless to say, Eph’s (Corey Stoll) young son Zach (Ben Hyland) gets a startling surprise when he comes home. My heart raced during this very intense scene as Zach desperately tries to maneuver his way around a very hungry Matt. And where is Kelly by the way?

Ray Donovan – “Snowflake” Recap. To Tell or Not to Tell.
“Snowflake” is a compelling episode that leaves a lot to be resolved. While I think the Marvin/Bridget story line is over, I wonder if it really is. With Ray dumping Bridget’s bloody clothes in a dumpster, has he paved the way for the cops to find out the truth? And with Mickey paying Cherry (Jeryl Prescott Sales) to distract Boris (Nick Gracer), the marijuana shop security guard, as only she can do with that talented mouth of hers, does that mean he and Shorty (Steph DuVall) will go ahead with their planned robbery of the store? Will they both end up in jail? Also, will Bunchy’s problems with Patty and Clifford spell the end of their relationship? More importantly, will Bunchy ever be able to sustain a normal relationship with a woman? Perhaps the most important question I have is how will Bridget ever recuperate from last week’s devastation? I know time heals all wounds but still… And last but not least, will Ray and Abby ever be able to repair their marriage?

The Strain – “Creatures of the Night” Review. Nailed It!
As much as I want to see a continuation, even a small tidbit of where the strigoi SWAT team comes from in last week’s “For Services Rendered,” I can’t say I’m at all disappointed in what goes down in this week’s “Creatures of the Night.” If the title doesn’t clue you in, this episode explores how the newborn strigoi—a type of vampire, according to our resident strigoi guru Abraham (David Bradley)—behave when stalking their prey. I thought they were mindless, blood thirty creatures, but on the contrary, they are clever in how they corner their victims.

Ray Donovan – “Sunny” Top Three Moments. From Bad to Worse.
“Sunny” does a good job of furthering everyone’s story lines—some ending and some continuing—as we near the end of season two of Ray Donovan. I’m not sorry Bridget’s first love is over; maybe now, she’ll stop lying and listen to her parents for a change. She certainly has her eyes opened for her, doesn’t she? Now that Kate knows Ray lied to her, it’s only a matter of time before she uncovers the truth. But will she be allowed to do that? The truth could cost some people very dearly if it ever comes to light. With Terry returning his paychecks to Harriet (Jayne Taini), will he and Frances (Brooke Smith) take off for Ireland? And as far as Abby and Ray are concerned, do you think they’re headed for divorce? Is that what Abby wants or has she perhaps taken her relationship with Jim a bit too far?
