Round table interviews with iZombie

WARNING: If you haven’t kept up with iZombie during the second season, there may be some spoilers in the video. Also, there is some profanity used…couple of ‘F-bombs’ get dropped throughout the interviews.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I won’t regurgitate (much) about the fact that iZombie has become one of my favorite shows on television. I also won’t blather on about how much I LOVE the variety of personalities Liv (Rose McIver) takes on each week. (FYI – Cheerleader, Stepford wife, and stripper still rank pretty high on my list.) And while I’m not into consuming brains like the zombies on iZombie do, I am impressed by the array of recipes the writers come up with for Liv to chow down on each week. I digress.

I missed interviewing the iZombie cast at Wonder Con 2016 in Los Angeles, so I am delighted that I was able to speak with the majority of the main cast, minus the hunky Robert Buckley who plays Major Lilywhite, at San Diego Comic-Con this year.

If you missed the outstanding two-hour season two finale, then there isn’t much I can do to spare you the details. Guest star Rob Thomas, the lead singer of Match Box 20, was savagely killed (on TV) at the Max Rager party and his brain consumed in the shocking season two finale. But other revelations come to light about the zombie population in Portland and a secret group known as “Fillmore Graves” (all puns intended) is introduced.

So what will this mean for season three? With the so-called zombie cure in question, what will happen to Major (Buckley) if he takes it? Will he lose his memories like Blaine (David Anders) did? Does Blaine truly have amnesia or is he playing some sort of elaborate game to appear more or less of an amoral being? One of the greatest comments from Anders is his assessment of his character Blaine, “The funny thing about Blaine is he’s as close to David Anders as any character I’ve ever played.” Wow! I already adore Anders and the confirmation of the fact that he’s just as saucy and fun as Blaine makes me like him even more.

The cast members talk about a variety of things concerning their individual characters and executive producers/writers Diane Ruggiero and Rob Thomas (not the singer) elaborate on what fans can expect in the upcoming third season. Ruggiero teases a few of the personalities we’ll see Liv take on this season. And one of the journalists asks Thomas about Rob Zombie making a guest appearance on the show. Thomas’ answer is quite interesting. There are some intriguing theories, humorous commentary, and much more revealed in the video interviews.

Please check out the full video* below. (*Please note, some of the audio from the journalists asking questions get a bit muffled with all the surrounding noise in the room. I’ve done my best to include the questions being asked within the video, but the answers are heard quite clearly.)

Dream chaser extraordinaire! Judy tends to be a tad sarcastic and kind of goofy! She is an avid admirer of all things supernatural, paranormal, celestial and mystical. She loves to read, write, and watches way too much TV. She enjoys many genres of film and music (and let's be honest, most music from the 80s). She also has a wicked sweet tooth. Cupcakes beware.
