TV News/Photos: Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Panel at WonderCon 1ABC returned to WonderCon with a full cast and executive producers from their hit show Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D (or as Clark Gregg would have you believe, Marvel’s Agent’s of Hydra). The panel, led by head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb, teased the mid-season return for its current fourth season. Although ABC has yet to confirm a fifth season for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., it’s clear this show has become a fan favorite.

“Our writers have really blown it away this year,” said cast member Gregg Clark. “That’s the real strength, that’s why we’re still here after 88 [episodes].”TV News/Photos: Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Panel at WonderCon 2

On the panel were cast members Clark Gregg, Chloe Bennet, Ming-Na Wen, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth
Henstridge, Henry Simmons, Mallory Jansen, Natalia Cordova-Buckley and Jason O’Mara, plus executive producers Jeffrey Bell, Maurissa Tancharoen, and Jed Whedon.

The panel answers fan questions and moved right into a screening of the show’s mid-season season premiere “What If…” which aired Tuesday, April 4, 2017. Season four continues within the confines of “The Framework,” which is explained in the first half of the season involving Radcliffe’s (John Hannah) LMD’s (life model decoys). “What If…” explores an alternate reality where Daisy (Chloe Bennett) and Jemma (Elizabeth Henstridge) infiltrate the Framework to save their friends.

S.H.I.E.L.D. panelists surprised the audience and fellow cast member Clark Gregg with a birthday cake celebrating his 55th birthday and rousing the entire room to sing “Happy Birthday” to him.

Surprising the audience, the call finished with Dalton joining the panel, similar to his character’s return to the show this season.

Fans cheered his return and Dalton remarked that it’s nice for him to be the “good guy” for a change.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on ABC.
