L-R: Rockmond Dunbar as Sheriff Roosevelt and Theo Rossi as Juice

Is Juice (Theo Rossi) out of his damn mind? He knows what happens to ‘rats’ and if he gets caught talking to Sheriff Roosevelt (Rockmond Dunbar), it ain’t gonna be pretty. Juice is so scared of what the MC will do if they find out he’s black; he’s willing to jeopardize his life by stealing a brick of cocaine from the cartel’s shipment to appease Roosevelt. I’m nervous for Juice. I can’t help but wonder if, similar to the finale of season three when we all thought Jax (Charlie Hunnam) had turned rat, Juice has already said something to one of the boys. It’s a stretch but I think it’s a curious notion that may not be too farfetched.

L-R: Ray McKinnon as AUSA Linc Potter and Rockmond Dunbar as Sheriff Roosevelt

I like that Sheriff Roosevelt is resorting to some low down dirty tactics to get what he wants. His brand of justice and who should be on the receiving end is intriguing. He doesn’t like the MC but is it only because he thinks they are prejudiced against people of color? We’ve seen other MCs with black members so perhaps it’s just an issue with SAMCRO. But what does that say about a black Sheriff “leveraging color” with a predominately white ‘higher power,’ if you will? Working with AUSA Linc Potter (Ray McKinnon) may seem advantageous on the surface; however, I think Potter may have a more ruthless, cunning side to him we’ve yet to see. Potter is nothing like the underhanded Agent Stahl (Ally Walker) in that I don’t think he would pin a murder on someone…or would he? It’s not like he was kind in telling Otto (Kurt Sutter) that the semen belonged to his old pal Bobby (Mark Boone Junior).

Sutter’s turn this season as Otto has a bigger presence than in previous seasons. I think Otto is not a man to be trifled with. He’s willing to go to some seriously dangerous ends to produce results. I mean, he slit his wrists, nearly bleeding to death, just to get into the prison infirmary to dish out retaliation on the Russians for stabbing Jax. The line he delivers to Gemma (Katey Sagal) is so chilling with its menacing, threatening effect. I don’t think Gemma expected it to come across the way it does, but Otto wants justice for Luanne’s murder anyway he can get it.

David Hasselhoff makes a guest appearance as “big dick” Don, Luanne’s protégé in the porn business. SAMCRO suspects Georgie (guest star Tom Arnold) had something to do with Luanne’s murder but when Georgie spouts off about some high rolling Asians funding his sex doll business, Clay (Ron Perlman) gets a wild idea about how to use this information to his advantage. It’s just like Clay to find an angle in everything, isn’t it?

What are Clay (Ron Perlman) and Gemma (Katey Sagal) hiding from each other?

These blasted letters will be the death of someone but who will be next? Gemma is telling Unser (Dayton Callie) to bring the letters to her while Clay is optioning the same deal without the other’s knowledge. After Clay reads the copies of the letters first, he burns them. When Gemma stops by later and finds out there’s nothing left to read, she bags up the remnants and takes them to Clay to show him the letters are gone. It’s quite comical how they bold face lie to each other. It’s a wonder they’ve stayed together so long. What does Gemma think is in the letters that she doesn’t want Clay to find out? We know what Clay’s trying to hide – he previously had John Teller aka JT killed because JT wanted to get SAMCRO out of the gun running business and go legit. That would have cut deep into Clay’s pockets, which wasn’t an option.

Opie (Ryan Hurst) is livid! He finds birth control and morning-after pills in his wife Lyla’s (Winter Ave Zoli) drawer at the porn studio. His revenge – taking a page from Jax and banging Ima (Kristen Renton).

Jax: “Tappin’ that crazy bitch is your solution?”

Opie: “Worked for you!

It’s a profound revelation when Opie confesses things just aren’t fitting with Lyla no matter how hard he tries. When he says he misses his late wife Donna (Sprague Grayden), it’s almost a confirmation for me that Lyla is just his rebound. He was lonely, afraid, and had two kids to take care of but I agree with Jax; shacking up with Ima is a bad move. Lyla, although pretty, isn’t the kind of rough and tumble gal who can tough things out when things get rocky. Now that Opie knows she’s not trying to get pregnant, it may just be the end of their romance.

Dream chaser extraordinaire! Judy tends to be a tad sarcastic and kind of goofy! She is an avid admirer of all things supernatural, paranormal, celestial and mystical. She loves to read, write, and watches way too much TV. She enjoys many genres of film and music (and let's be honest, most music from the 80s). She also has a wicked sweet tooth. Cupcakes beware.
