Because I want to be the biggest goddamn drug dealer in New York City.” — Dre

There are so many plot points in “It’s Done,” my head is absolutely spinning. From the beginning of the episode where Ghost (Omari Hardwick) pays a visit to attorney Terry Silver (Brandon Victor Dixon), to the very last scene when Angela (Lela Loren) says, “That was for Greg,” there’s a lot to absorb.

At the end of last week’s episode, “You Lied to My Face,” we saw Ghost watching as AUSA John Mak (Sung Kang) threatens Proctor (Jerry Ferrara) with possible jail time if he doesn’t cooperate regarding the whereabouts of the missing Bailey Markham (Lee Tergesen). This leads Ghost to wonder whether Proctor can be trusted so he consults Silver about the very same thing. A funny thing happens, though, as Ghost is walking out of Silver’s apartment — he finds a woman’s earring on the carpet. We all know whose earring it is. Ghost may not recognize it now, but something so insignificant as a piece of jewelry may be Tasha’s (Naturi Naughton) downfall. I can only imagine what Ghost will do when he finds out…and you know he will.

Now that Tommy (Joseph Sikora) thinks Tony Teresi (William Sadler) is his dad, he asks his mother Kate (Patricia Kalember) about the father she told him is dead. I had to laugh at the music playing when Tommy pays her a visit. Tanya Tucker’s “Delta Dawn” is so damn appropriate because if anyone is a “faded rose from days gone by,” it’s Kate. She’s smoking and drinking as usual when Tommy demands to know whether Teresi is his father. I’m not sure why she lies but everyone knows the truth will out. And it sure does, much to Tommy’s shock. Let’s face it; Kate is nowhere as good a liar as Tommy.

Ghost and Tommy with the Jiminez cartel.

But that’s not all Tommy has on his hands. He’s still waiting for an answer from Diego Jiminez (Maurice Compte) and his sister Alicia (Ana de la Reguera) about being repaid for Julio’s (J.J. Ramirez) death. Vowing to go to war with the “Jiminez cartel” if he doesn’t get the response he wants, Tommy thinks Dre (Rotimi Akinosho) and his cohorts — Cristobal (Matt Cedeño) and Uriel (Ian Paola) — will back him up. Not so fast, my man. Tommy realizes he needs Ghost’s help so together, they go talk to the brother/sister drug dealers. Little do they know, Dre has plans of his own for the drug business. I’m so disappointed in where the writers have taken Dre’s character. Ghost and Tommy went out on a limb for Dre way back when so it never crossed my mind that Dre would stab them in the back. He thinks nothing of double-crossing the people he shouldn’t. All Dre can see are the dollar signs floating in front of his eyes but he needs to be careful; I don’t think anyone has gone against Ghost or Tommy and lived to tell the tale.

Now that the storyline between Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) and an absent Kanan (Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson) is over, I wondered where the writers would take Tariq next. All I can say is this kid is headed down a path of self-destruction, especially if he keeps hanging with Brains (Jermel Howard) and 2-Bit (Michael J Ferguson). These two brain trusts (pun intended) get Tariq involved in a robbery that goes bad. Maybe it’s not such a terrible idea for him to go to the school his sister Raina (Donshea Hopkins) wants to attend. I hope Tariq learns his lesson from this and goes back to being the kind of kid his parents think he is.

Silver brings the news of Sandoval’s arrest to Ghost and Tasha.

You know, I’ve been waiting for God knows how long for the truth to come out about who killed Greg (Andy Bean) and we finally get the answer in “It’s Done.” Even though Angela, Cooper Saxe (Shane Johnson), and Jerry Donovan (Ty Jones) know Mike Sandoval (David Fumero) is the mole, they have a difficult time putting the pieces together to have him arrested. But Angela knows the only way to entrap Sandoval is to wear a wire. For a hot minute there, I thought Angela was about to meet her untimely demise. She is one smart cookie, though, and plays her part in this little scenario to perfection. She knows exactly how to draw the truth out of Sandoval. Although, I don’t understand why she turns off the mike that Donovan and Saxe are listening in on. Any thoughts? Angela shows her true colors, though, when she tells Silver about Sandoval and where he’s being held. She knows full well he’ll take the news back to Ghost and Proctor, allowing her to get the revenge she’s always wanted.

Other Thoughts
I love the bit of humor Power always inserts in its episodes. In “It’s Done,” as Alicia is walking down the stairs for the meeting with Ghost and Tommy, Tommy whispers to him, “Be careful, kitty has claws.”

Dre assures Ghost everything is under control.

With the major storylines of this season of Power being wrapped up in “It’s Done,” I suppose Ghost agreeing to work with Councilman Tate (Larenz Tate) despite being admonished last week by Simon Stern (Victor Garber) not to do so is the next big plot point for the remainder of the season. Can’t wait to see where it goes.

Now that we know Proctor didn’t get rid of the laptop, is he to be trusted? With Sandoval out of the way, why does he still feel the need to keep it?

Do you really believe Teresi isn’t going to want something in return for taking care of Tommy’s problem? I know they’re “family” but still. That is a mighty big favor.
