From Flynn and Provenza’s scheme steadily spiraling out of their control to Brenda’s reaction to their hijinks, I laugh often enough to consider The Closer a comedy as well as a drama.

Review: Leverage, S4, E5 – “The Hot Potato Job”
I like where the writers are taking Leverage this season. Watching the team pull a con is always exciting, but as I’ve pointed out in a previous review, following a formula too closely could lead to the show becoming predictable and boring. “The Hot Potato Job” is written by Jenn Kao and directed by John Harrison and both get high marks for delivering yet another great episode that balances the formula with new creative twists.

Recap/Review: The Real Housewives of New Jersey, S3, E10 – “There Arose Such a Clatter”
Wow, these New Jersey housewives really know how to celebrate Christmas. First, it was Christmas at Jacqueline’s, then at Melissa’s. Now, it’s Christmas at the Manzos, and at Teresa’s. And it’s not even Christmas Day yet! At the conclusion of last week’s episode, “Twas the Fight Before Christmas,” Melissa and Joey politely asked Monica Chacon to leave, which she did. This week, we pick up right where we left off.

Review: #FallingSkies, Season 1, Ep. 7 “Sanctuary – Pt 2”
Why is Weaver (Will Patton) so hell bent on being “by the book,” explicitly trusting Terry (guest star Henry Czerny) in spite of all the red flags Tom (Noah Wyle) has pointed out? It’s been 48 hours since Terry took all the kids, including Tom’s three boys Hal (Drew Roy), Ben (Connor Jessup), and Matt (Maxim Knight), to the 7th Mass compound and still no sign of the 2nd Mass escorts or 3rd Mass convoy showing up with Col. Porter’s (Dale Dye) “new orders.” I know this is a critical time for humanity, but all the signs are pointing to ‘danger Will Robinson, danger!’

Review: The Glades, S2, E7 – “Addicted to Love”
Last week I replied to a comment that I am going to let this season play out and see where the writers take Matt Passmore’s irreverent, irrepressible homicide detective, Jim Longworth, before I decide if I would hang out in The Glades another season. This week’s episode brought me a little closer to remembering why I willingly follow this cop into the Florida swamps to solve murders.

Review: #Haven , Season 2, Ep 2 “Fear and Loathing” (Your worst fears manifest right before your eyes)
“Fear and Loathing” presents us with a unique problem – people’s worst fears are manifesting right before their eyes. All save Audrey Parker (1) (Emily Rose). It seems she isn’t affected by this strange affliction. Everyone else, including Audrey Parker (2) (Kathleen Munroe), is seeing their nightmares come to fruition. Duke (Eric Balfour) sees the tattooed man, who supposedly will kill him one day; others see rabid mad dogs, burn victims, decayed and deceased spouses (eww, zombie!), and scary clowns (shudders). I hate clowns.

Review: #WilfredFX , Season 1, Ep. 5 “Respect” (A Cheese Eating Dog With A God Complex?)
Ryan decides volunteering at the local hospice will greatly benefit his social standing but Wilfred isn’t quite so keen on the idea. “You mean like community service? That’s for drunks and wife beaters, not decent folk like us. Now come on, let’s go over to the playground and blaze a fatty.” Rashida Jones guest stars this week as Lisa, the admin at the hospice.

Review: Franklin & Bash, S1, E8 – Bangover
Poor Jared (Breckin Meyer) and Peter (Mark-Paul Gosselaar). Why can’t they find a temp who looks like her? Who’s her, you ask? Lily (Anabella Casanova), Stanton Infeld’s (Malcolm McDowell) beautiful niece. Immediately, you can see a connection between Lily and Peter, but Stanton warns him to stay away. You know that’s not going to happen, don’t you?

Review: White Collar, S3, E7 – “Taking Account”
This episode expertly captures the elements that draw in and keep viewers for the past three seasons. It’s fun, peppered with clever entendres and witty dialogue, and revealing, allowing us to see some different sides of our lead characters. But it also left me with a bit of a pit in my stomach thinking through the ramifications of the last scene.

Review: The Big C, Season 2, Ep. 4 “Boo!”
I’m going to play Devil’s advocate now. Cathy has stage-four Melanoma so I understand her being on edge, but I think she’s channeling the ‘bitch’ in “Brave Bitch” embroidered on the t-shirt Andrea makes for her. “I feel braver and bitchier already.” Yeah, her being bitchier is beginning to rub me the wrong way.

Review: #FallingSkies, Season 1, Ep 105 “Sanctuary – Part 1”
“Sanctuary – Part 1” focuses on the human condition when tested and how it can alter lives forever. Anne is assaulted after a couple and their son steal medicine; Terry (guest star Henry Czerny) from 7th Mass unexpectedly arrives to inform Captain Weaver and Tom about new orders from Col. Porter.; Hal becomes concerned about Ben after overhearing a conversation he has with Matt.

Review: The Glades, S2, E6 – “Gibtown”
There are times when the storyline of the central characters enhances a show’s main focus, and times when it distracts viewers from it. “Gibtown” was unfortunately a bit of the latter. The sharp banter, clever dialogue, and bait-and-switch techniques that have been this show’s draw from the start were shadowed by the triangular angst between Jim Longworth (Matt Passmore), Callie Cargill (Kiele Sanchez), and Samantha “Sam” Harper (Natalia Cigliuti).
