FX Networks will launch FXX, a new network aimed at young adult viewers, it was announced today by John Landgraf, President and General Manager, FX Networks. With the addition of FXX, FX Networks will become a suite of three networks consisting of FX, FXX and FXM.

TV News: CBS Renews 18 Primetime Series for the 2013-2014 Season
Hallelujah, TV fans! Some of your favorite TV series have already received their renewal notices for the upcoming season. Based on how well CBS is doing in the ratings this season, the network has elected to renew 18 series—comprising 16 hours of its primetime schedule—for the 2013-14 TV viewing season, including four comedies, nine dramas, three reality series and two newsmagazines.

While TV fans are just getting into spring television, TNT recently announced its lineup for the upcoming summer season. Set to join TNT’s already wildly popular series Falling Skies, Rizzoli & Isles, Major Crimes, Perception and Franklin & Bash is new series, King & Maxwell; two unscripted competition series, The Hero and 72 Hours; and a docu-drama procedural, Cold Justice (working title).

The color red plays a dominant role throughout “Delinquents”: Bo wears a red negligee, Lauren (Zoie Palmer) wears a red button down blouse, and Tamsin (Rachel Skarsten) wears a really low-cut red shirt. Red, being an intense color that elicits strong emotions, especially love, is meant to symbolize the feelings these three women have for each other (well, except for Lauren and Tamsin but the common denominator here is Bo).

If anyone has trouble with William H. Macy playing Frank Gallagher, well, he has proved you wrong in “Civil Wrongs.” Macy absolutely shines this week as the pawn between the gay marriage activists and the conversion therapy group. Jeremy Allen White also proves his acting chops during Lip’s hospital bedside scenes with Karen (Laura Slade Wiggins). And let’s not forget Joan Cusack as Sheila. That woman says more with her tears and facial expressions than some actors connote with real dialogue. Oh hell, everyone was outstanding this week!

Nine Surviving Silent Hitchcock Films to Have U.S. Tour
A national tour of Alfred Hitchcock’s nine earliest surviviving works, all newly restored by the BFI (British Film Institute), will roll out with screenings presented by the San Francisco Silent Film Festival (Castro Theatre, June 14-16);the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences (kicking off June 18 at the Academy’s Goldwyn Theater in Los Angeles); and BAMcinématek (kicking off June 29-July 5) at the Academy of Music’s Steinberg Screen in the Harvey Theater.

TV News: TV Land’s “Hot in Cleveland” Gets Fifth Season Order
TV Land announced today its hit comedy series Hot in Cleveland has received a fifth season order to begin filming this fall. The season’s 24 episodes will bring the total number of episodes for the network’s first scripted series to 104. The beloved series has already been sold into syndication, which will premiere September 2014. TV Land also announced recently comedy legends Carol Burnett and Tim Conway will guest star on Hot in Cleveland this summer. Burnett will play Victoria’s (Wendie Malick) mother Penny, while Conway will return to the series as Nick, Elka’s (Betty White) ex-boyfriend. This time around, though, Nick has eyes only for Penny.
