Life’s Too Short, a comedy from Ricky Gervais, returns Friday, July 5 (10 p.m. ET/PT) for a special series finale that will neatly tie-up all the loose ends that have had fans burning for answers, exclusively on HBO. Created by Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant & Warwick Davis, the Life’s Too Short Special wraps up the story of actor Warwick Davis following the conclusion of the seven-episode season of Life’s Too Short, which debuted on HBO in Feb. 2012. In the original series, Davis struggled to jumpstart his fading career and maintain his status as Britain’s “go-to” little person. Below is a sneak peek, as well as the official press release.

So here we are, skidding into the season finale with Jackie and Frank’s relationship up in the air, Jackie and Kevin dealing with an extremely troubled Grace who is imitating her mother’s drug habit, and Jackie insisting both daughters should live with Kevin. And let’s not forget the sexual romp Zoey and Prentiss engaged in last week, and Coop’s hurt feelings where Carrie is concerned. “Soul” addresses all these issues, and so much more in an episode that simultaneously leaves you both happy and sad.

What a way to open “Heart.” Not only do Frank (Adam Ferrera) and Jackie (Edie Falco) have sex for the first time, but he admits his true feelings for her. What could have been an awkward moment becomes fun with the honest, light-hearted dialogue and terrific delivery by both Ferrera and Falco. Although, I did glimpse a bit of fear in Jackie’s eyes before she turns the light out. Could it be that not all is what it appears to be?
