Heads Will Roll…And Evil Will Rise. Review: Sleepy Hollow – “Pilot”

Waking up 250 years after the Revolutionary War, Ichabod finds himself in strange surroundings as asphalt now replaces dirt roads, and with a “Starbucks” on nearly every corner, adjusting to the new world will take time.Unbeknownst to Abbie and Ichabod, they are both intertwined in a destiny to save the world but their journey will be treacherous. Throughout the Sleepy Hollow pilot, there are many dark and ominous references to the end of the world, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and demons. The supernatural and occult theme is definitely not for the faint of heart but there is also a dose of humor splashed in for good measure.

Love, Murder, and Tater Tots. Review: Bones – “The Secret in the Proposal”

As we dive into “The Secrets in the Proposal,” we find Booth sitting at a bar, downing shots and confessing his sins to Aldo (guest star Mather Zickel), his former Ranger buddy and military chaplain. Despite having a gruesome case to solve that involves a murder via a large hotel air conditioning unit, Booth and Brennan are at odds throughout the episode. Many at the Jeffersonian are conflicted about whose side they’re on.

Blood Will Be Thy End. Retrospective: The White Queen – “War At First Hand”

The medieval battle for England’s throne reaches a major turning point in this week’s “War at First Hand,” an intense rollercoaster ride marking the end, and rise to power, of several major characters in the series, The White Queen. Unlike some previous episodes, “War at First Hand” does a better job of balancing the continuity of its characters’ storylines, as well as the dramatic tone of its heavier, atmospheric, battle sequences. This all adds up to a thrilling and compelling episode that suggests more bloodshed in the future.

Red Carpet Event – Sons of Anarchy Premiere: 50 Shades of What to Expect in Season 6

The Sons of Anarchy season six premiere has become one of the most anticipated events in television with fans lining up at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood for hours hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite actors. Reporting for Your Entertainment Corner (YEC), I was on the red carpet talking with some of the cast about what lies ahead for season six and their off-season projects. I of course had to ask what they thought about the 50 Shades of Grey casting announcement that has triggered a worldwide Charlie Hunnam frenzy!

Conference Call: HAVEN’s Eric Balfour – Excited for the Season and Fan Appreciation

Eric Balfour talks about what’s ahead in HAVEN Season 4: I love his answer to a question about his character Duke being either the ‘good or bad’ guy,”…it’s why I love playing the character, because he is completely human and he is fallible.” And a fan question came up asking if he’s wearing socks or not…I’m even more curious to know the back story now! Balfour also speaks animatedly and spiritedly about his new cast members Emma Lahana, Christian Camargo, and Colin Ferguson… what I am DYING to find out more about is, as Balfour put it, “how deep the connection and bond is between Duke and Audrey.” WHAT!

Stormy Troubles and More Gas Leaks. Review: Haven — “Fallout”

“Fallout” takes us on a wild and stormy journey. So much has changed in the quaint town of Haven, Maine yet, somehow, it seems the same…if that makes sense. As advertised, Haven returns six months after Duke and Audrey go into the barn. However, time passes differently in the barn because what is six months for everyone else feels like only mere minutes for Duke. With a splash, Duke is transported out of the barn into an aquarium in Boston. How or why, no one knows…yet. Now Duke must find his way back to Haven to figure out what happened to Audrey. But Duke won’t be traveling alone.

MC Protocol Breach and Sex Business Causes More Issues. Retrospective: Sons of Anarchy – “Straw”

A much darker Sons of Anarchy returns with an intense episode filled with gunfire, sex, suspicions, guilt, and hopes of revenge, all wrapped in controversy. Last season, Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) became SAMCRO’s savior. This season, with so much unraveling around him, keeping the MC and his family together seems like a bigger challenge.

Conference Call: Megan Boone and John Eisendrath talk about “The Blacklist”

On September 4, I had the pleasure of participating in a conference call with Megan Boone, star of NBC’s new series, The Blacklist, as well as the executive producer and show runner, John Eisendrath. Both provided an interesting look at the new series, which I think is going to be a huge hit for NBC.

Conference Call: HAVEN’s Lucas Bryant Talks About Season 4 and More!

Conference Call with HAVEN’s Lucas Bryant. I absolutely adore Bryant’s wry humor and sarcasm during this conference call. The way he talks about Eric Balfour’s “great, strong arms” embracing him in a hug in the season premiere episode “Fallout” had me riveted. (Insert giggle). And of course, Bryant would like to take all the credit for the show’s success…he was totally kidding. And I had to ask about the perpetual “gas leaks” that seem to plague Haven, Maine. Bryant says that will be addressed this season.

Bad Queens and Old Kings, A Retrospective: The White Queen – “The Bad Queen”

Throughout The White Queen, Margaret of Anjou (Veerle Baetens), the infamous wife of King Henry VI (David Shelley) has remained unseen, playing behind the scenes as a symbol of tyranny depending on whose side you favor: York or Lancaster. In this week’s “The Bad Queen,” Margaret of Anjou makes her debut as Warwick (James Frain) and George’s (David Oakes) ambition takes on a whole new level of betrayal.
