I hate commercials for TV shows because they are never what they seem. I remember watching one for a show where there was a tense situation, a gun was drawn, a gunshot rang out, and the screen went black. Logic indicates someone was shot. Turns out the gunshot sound was added digitally to the commercial just to entice people to watch in order to find out who was shot.

“Necromancer” is an absolutely amazing episode filled with drama and mystery, and wrought with intensity, especially during the interrogation scenes between Ichabod (Tom Mison) and the ruthless Headless Horseman (Jeremy Owens). There is a reason Sleepy Hollow has already been renewed so early on for a second season, and if you haven’t started watching, “Necromancer” is the perfect episode to start with.

I love it when The Walking Dead has a single focused episode. “Live Bait” dissects the man behind the eye patch to show the two sides of a villain who deep down isn’t all evil.

“The Trouble with the Troubles” gives us so many shocking revelations, I literally clasped my hand to my mouth when the biggest reveal happened. I’m not even sure I am typing of my own volition because I’m in a state of disbelief. Not denial, just a state of ‘What the heck just happened!’ Haven continues to be fresh, inventive, and downright surprising.

“One Night Stand” will leave you feeling a bit parched and waterlogged all at the same time. “One Night Stand” is interesting in that it provides not only a new species of Wesen but also highlights Nick’s (David Giuntoli) newly enhanced Grimm powers. I feel, however, like it is a filler episode with a lackluster fight scene on the docks. I’m also getting an uneasy feeling about Nick’s Grimm prowess being heightened because something just isn’t right about it.

Patrick Wolcott (Zachary Booth), a young runaway, returns after 15 years to spend time with his dying father William (Richard Thomas). But Elizabeth Burke (Tiffani Thiessen) isn’t convinced the young man is the same little boy she used to tutor. Neal (Matt Bomer) is sent in as the new butler to try to figure out if Patrick is who he says he is or someone after the massive trust fund Patrick is set to inherit.

I was expecting to love “Death and the Maiden” more than I did. The overwhelming emotion wrought from the characters should have been enough to engage me, but I found my attention waning at times.
