Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce – “Rule 32: F-You, Rob Frumpkis!” Retrospective. Lessons Learned.

I can always tell when Noxon puts on her writer’s cap—I find myself with an idiotic Cheshire grin on my face throughout the majority of the episode. “Rule 32” fits the bill, particularly during Edelstein and Christie’s scenes together. They have such amazing chemistry onscreen, I could almost close my eyes and feel the emotions bouncing off them. Of course, director Robert Duncan McNeill deserves kudos for the way he sets up the scenes.

Sleepy Hollow – “Kali Yuga” Recap. Karaoke and Family Drama.

“Kali Yuga” presents us with an interesting dilemma involving the handsome Nick Hawley (Matt Barr). Hawley has always been a private guy; he doesn’t talk much about himself or his past, but his past is about to pay him a surprise visit in the form of Carmilla Pines (guest star Jaime Murray).

Justified – “Cash Game” Review. All Aboard the Choo-Choo Train.

Colorful characters and good intentions abound in “Cash Game.” After Boyd (Walton Goggins) robs the bank in “Fate’s Right Hand,” he’s not sure if what he finds in Calhoun’s (actor name) safe deposit box is worth the “three million” he was told by Katherine Hale (Mary Steenburgen) and Wynn Duffy (Jere Burns). But, there’s more than one way to skin a cat…

Suits – Midseason Premiere “Enough is Enough” Retrospective. Louis Litt Day.

As the Suits midseason premiere approached, I was cautiously optimistic about things to come. As someone who’s not a fan of excessive internal conflict among central characters, I mentally prepared myself for the fallout that was seemingly inevitable due to Louis (Rick Hoffman) learning the truth about Mike (Patrick J. Adams).

Grimm – “Tribunal” Recap. The New Normal.

“Tribunal” picks up exactly where “Wesenrein” left off with Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) shackled, standing among a sea of cloaked figures chanting “Wesenrein” over and over. “Grandmaster” Charlie Riken (Brandon Quinn) presides over the so-called trial accusing Monroe of “violating the law” by “marrying outside of your bloodline” and “the befriending of a Grimm.” Back at the precinct, Captain Renard (Sasha Roiz) is concerned about Sgt. Wu (Reggie Lee) so he asks Nick (David Giuntoli) and Hank (Russell Hornsby) to make sure Wu can handle it when a Wesen “woges.” Meanwhile, Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) continue to review the wedding guest list to figure out who betrayed Rosalee and Monroe to the Wesenrein.

Backstrom – “Dragon Slayer” Review. Been There, Seen That

The two most commonly aired shows today are either about detectives/cops or the medical field. Somewhere in the human psyche, we are interested in people who save lives and/or investigate the mystery of the week. Backstrom is a detective series that tries to be fun, witty, gritty, and interesting, but it just tries too hard.

Justified – “Fate’s Right Hand” Review. Going Out with a Bang.

Justified may be on its way out but it’s not going quietly into that good night; no way. “Fate’s Right Hand” takes you by the scruff of your collar and throws you into a world of hurt, betrayal, and just the right amount of humor for good measure. If you were disappointed with season five, what I’ve seen in the first three episodes of season six makes up for it ten times over. I can’t wait to find out what happens this season.

Castle – “Private Eye, Caramba!” Recap. Shh! Don’t Telenovela.

“Private Eye, Caramba!” is a fun and sexy episode! In the opening scene, a beautiful young woman dressed in a glittering gown runs down a dark alley and just before her neighbor is able to buzz her into her apartment, someone grabs her. The next thing you know, the young starlet is dead. Anahita Menendez (Cindy Luna) was one of the stars of a hit telenovela but there is much more to her death than meets the eye.
