January 15, 2019 — Freeform announced that it has put into development “National Parker,” a half-hour comedy from actress and executive producer Jenna Fischer (“Splitting Up Together”), and writer Alexandra Henrikson with Warner Horizon Scripted Television.

When social media–obsessed Parker Adams’ world comes crashing down after a breakup, she decides to put her New York City life behind her and become an adult with a real job – as a national park ranger at Alaska’s Hickberry National Park.

Jenna Fischer (“Splitting Up Together” and “The Office”) will serve as executive producer. Alexandra Henrikson (“Maniac”) will serve as co-executive producer and is also set to write the pilot script.

Jenna Fischer says, “When Alex and I met we became fast friends, bonding over our love of national parks, activism and a desire to create projects for badass funny women. We also wanted to showcase the ingenuity and brilliance of the often-underestimated millennial generation. ‘National Parker’ is what sprang forth. We couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with Warner Horizon and Freeform to bring ‘National Parker’ to life.”
