The Normal Heart, executed produced by Emmy® winner Ryan Murphy and Oscar and Golden Globe winner Brad Pitt, is the story of the outbreak of an unidentified disease, now known as HIV/AIDS, during the early 1980s in New York City, and is based on the Tony award-winning play of the same name by Larry Kramer. Kramer used many of his own experiences to create the character Ned Weeks (Mark Ruffalo), on whom the movie focuses.

Having eluded Agents Morgan (Yvonne Strahovski) and Ritter (Gbenga Akinnagbe) by firing into the crowd at the United States Embassy causing mass panic, Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) races to find the flight key that logged the data from the drone Tanner (John Boyega) was in command of. Jack believes terrorists took control of the drone, fired on US and British soldiers, and then covered their tracks to make it look like Tanner did it. Will Jack be able to find Tanner and the flight key before Morgan and Ritter find him?

The series was developed and written by Noah Hawley and is based on the 1996 Coen Brothers’ film of the same name. Howerton plays Don Chumph, the lovable yet dim-witted personal trainer who ends up blackmailing Stavros Milos (Oliver Platt).

I’ve been a fan of Oliver Platt’s ever since his appearance in the Disney movies Tall Tale and The Three Musketeers and on May 9, during a conference call, I was able to ask him a few questions about his role on the new FX series, Fargo. Secretary of Defense James Heller (William Devane) told Bauer he could never go near his daughter Audrey (Kim Raver) as she became catatonic while being held prisoner by the Chinese government. So where has Bauer been and what could possibly bring him out of hiding after four years? Start the clock again because Jack Bauer is back.

It’s an erie scene that I wish had been played out more because we are not really told how much, if anything, Rachael remembers.

On April 30, I had the opportunity to participate in a conference call with Colin Hanks, star of the FX series, Fargo, which is based on the 1996 Coen Brothers’ film of the same name. The Coen Brothers took a back seat with the series, serving only as executive producers. Noah Hawley developed and wrote the series. Hanks plays Duluth Minnesota police officer Gus Grimley, a passive yet endearing single father.
