This is about my life! It doesn’t get any more mother-fuckin’ personal than that!” — James “Ghost” St. Patrick

After watching “We’re in This Together,” I finally have some hope. Hope that James “Ghost” Patrick (Omari Hardwick) will be released; hope that he and Tasha (Naturi Naughton) can repair their marriage; and hope that all’s well that ends well.

Silver, Ghost, and Proctor don’t like what they hear.

Now that the DNA evidence was thrown out in last week’s installment, “The Kind of Man You Are,” the Feds must work quickly to “shore up” their case against Ghost. With Angela (Lela Loren) back on the team, I was surprised when she agrees with AUSA John Mak (Sung Kang), Cooper Saxe (Shane Johnson), and Mike Sandoval (David Fumero) about Ghost getting “the needle.” Mark is less than pleased with Angela’s wheeling and dealing with Ghost in jail so he tasks her with talking to Tasha again. Ghost’s ex-lover meeting with his wife doesn’t make for the most pleasant of circumstances.

Tasha and Angela can’t stand each other, and rightfully so.

The scenes between Angela and Tasha are some of the best in each episode of Power. In “We’re in This Together,” Angela uses Tasha’s doubts about Ghost to play on her insecurities. Ghost hasn’t told Tasha about the deal Angela offered him but true to the phrase “standing by your man,” Tasha doesn’t let on that she doesn’t know about it. Loren and Naughton play off each other extremely well, with the tension in the air being as thick as it can be. The sparks absolutely fly between these two.

As angel-faced as Tasha can be with Angela, that’s as furious as she is when she tells Ghost what happened. I don’t blame her for telling him he can’t make any more decisions without consulting her first. After all, they are supposed to be in this together. That’s the deal they made in spite of everything that’s happened, including his long-time affair with Angela.

Ghost has the last laugh.

As requested, Tommy (Joseph Sikora) goes to Tony Teresi’s (William Sadler) house where he drops off the blackmail money. Tommy is a cunning SOB. If Teresi thinks he’s playing with Ghost’s errand boy, he has another think coming. I love when Tommy engages Teresi’s guy, Sammy (Bill Sage), in conversation, mentioning the names of some of the biggest mobsters, including Roberto Siletti. He’s the person Ghost thinks is how Teresi knows he’s Ghost. As “We’re in This Together” progresses, we find out Tasha isn’t the only person who’s in this with Ghost; Tommy is too and rightfully so.

Attorney Joe Proctor (Jerry Ferrara) sets up a meeting with Bailey Markham (Lee Tergesen), who supposedly has a tape incriminating Ghost. Ghost’s only way out of this predicament is to flip on Tommy. Ghost refuses but when push comes to shove, I wonder what Ghost will do in the long run. After all, we’re talking about him getting the death penalty! Thankfully, we don’t have to wonder too long as Tommy solves the problem…permanently. The question is, though, how many copies of Markham’s tape are there, and who else has seen them?

What a beast Proctor is in court! Last week, he succeeded in preventing the DNA evidence from being presented in court and now he’s trying to make Judge Tapper (Michael Gaston) throw out the gun that was found in Ghost’s office at his nightclub Truth. We all know Sandoval planted the gun but Proctor is vicious as he tries to prove SAC Jerry Donovan (Ty Jones) not only planted the gun but is the mole as well.

No good can come of this relationship.

I wish I could understand where Tariq’s (Michael Rainey Jr.) head is at. He has to realize what he’s doing as a member of Kanan’s (Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson) gang will hurt his mother and father tremendously. Not to mention how illegal it is. Kanan is a bad influence on Tariq, plain and simple. He encourages him to do all kinds of things Tasha would kill him for if she knew. I’m worried about Tariq, especially after Raina (Donshea Hopkins) finds the wad of cash Kanan gives him.

Julio (J.R. Ramirez) is having a difficult time in his role as “distro.” Not only does he have to soothe Cristobal’s (Matt Cedeño) feelings about Tommy driving over Domingo’s (Gabriel Rodriguez aka G-Rod) legs in episode two, “Things are Only Going to Get Worse,” he’s having problems managing the primeras below him, as well as Tommy with his crazy antics. Things don’t get any better, though, after the Feds close down Truth, making it impossible for Dre (Rotimi Akinosho) to contribute his share of the drug money for Tommy next week.

Other Thoughts

I don’t understand what Marshal Williams (Charlie Murphy) as against Ghost. To be honest, the scene where Williams holds the bar tight to Ghost’s neck doesn’t ring true to me. Murphy is this tall, scrawny man where Hardwick has a hard (sexy) body to die for. You may not know it but Murphy, who is comedian Eddie Murphy’s older brother, passed away after shooting this season of Power. R.I.P.Mr. Murphy.

Lord, I want to wipe that smirk off attorney Terry Silver’s (Brandon Victor Dixon) face when he and Ghost talk! I just hate that Silver acts like he knows everything when, in truth, he knows nothing! Unfortunately, it looks like Ghost and Silver will be spending a lot more time together.

I love the way Ghost puts it to Teresi, making short work of their blackmail arrangement. That’s all.

What did you think of “We’re in This Together?” What will Ghost do with the awful news Proctor tells him at the end of the episode? I don’t know who I feel sorrier for, Ghost or Proctor. And now that Angela knows the truth about the gun, what will she do with the information? Is this how Silver will win the case for Ghost? Will our favorite businessman finally come home?
