Fox Movie Channel will air the 1976 movie, The Blue Bird, which stars Academy Award® and Golden Globe winner Elizabeth Taylor, on Monday, April 25, 2011 at 8:00 pm EST and repeated at 10:00 pm EST. The movie was directed by George Cukor and includes such other notables as Ava Gardner, Jane Fonda, Cicely Tyson, Robert Morley and Harry Andrews. In addition, fans will be able to tweet live during the presentation, offering their comments, favorite lines and personal memories of the recently-deceased Elizabeth Taylor. As this movie is not available on DVD and is rarely seen on television, what a wonderful opportunity for Taylor’s fans to discover a rare film in her otherwise famous filmography!

This family-themed fantasy film features the legendary Elizabeth Taylor starring in multiple roles as the Queen of Light, Mother, Witch and Maternal Love.

In addition to Elizabeth Taylor, the star studded cast includes Jane Fonda, Ava Gardner, Cicely Tyson, Patsy Kensit and Will Geer. The film was directed by the legendary George Cukor (‘Adam’s Rib,’ ‘A Star Is Born,’ ‘My Fair Lady’ and many more).

This film is a remake of ‘The Blue Bird’ (1940) starring 20^th Century Fox’s Shirley Temple, and follows a pair of peasant children who are led on a magical quest for the fabulous Blue Bird of Happiness.

This film is also the first co-production between the United States and Russia.
