Grimm – “Hibernaculum” Recap. Colder Than a Witch’s You Know What.

Time is of the essence in “Hibernaculum” with strange new Wesen arriving in Portland who freeze their victims, and Hexenbiests gone wild. This week’s installment of Grimm takes us on one helluva ride where reality is becoming blurred and the past has a way of creeping up on some of our beloved characters. From Monroe (Silas Wier Mitchell) reliving the nightmare he endured in “Wesenrein” and “Tribunal,” to Captain Sean Renard (Sasha Roiz) remembering every detail of being shot and having visions of an evil from beyond, things get a bit frightening in “Hibernaculum.”

Grimm – “Double Date” Retrospective. Winging It.

If this week’s episodic quote isn’t cryptic enough, there are many other mysteries embedded within “Double Date” that will definitely make you go hmm. The title of this week’s Grimm is a bit misleading. Typically, double date implies two couples going out for the evening, but in “Double Date,” the meaning is more … well, it’s duplicitous to the nth degree.

Grimm – “Bad Luck” Review. Luck of the Draw.

“Bad Luck” presents us with an interesting case of the old superstition – if you carry a rabbit’s foot, you’ll have good luck. Well, not so much for the rabbits that lose their feet to help the rest of the world secure some good fortune. Throughout “Bad Luck,” we meet several new Wesen species, a “Willehara,” a rabbit like creature, and “Leporem Venators,” a raccoon like creature that knows how to wield an axe and play a creepy tune on a concertina. It seems Wesen couples who need help conceiving can purchase the foot of a Willehara to aid them with their fertility.

Conf Call: Grimm’s Sasha Roiz Talks Season 4 and Portland Grimmster Endowment Fund

Actor Sasha Roiz of NBC’s Grimm talks about a local Portland charity he and the cast are supporting through the Grimmster Endowment. #GrimmGives. He also talks about season 4 of Grimm, saying “this season has become kind of like the season of the Hexenbiest. It’s a hexen feast, as I like to call it.” Read more….

Grimm – “Tribunal” Recap. The New Normal.

“Tribunal” picks up exactly where “Wesenrein” left off with Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) shackled, standing among a sea of cloaked figures chanting “Wesenrein” over and over. “Grandmaster” Charlie Riken (Brandon Quinn) presides over the so-called trial accusing Monroe of “violating the law” by “marrying outside of your bloodline” and “the befriending of a Grimm.” Back at the precinct, Captain Renard (Sasha Roiz) is concerned about Sgt. Wu (Reggie Lee) so he asks Nick (David Giuntoli) and Hank (Russell Hornsby) to make sure Wu can handle it when a Wesen “woges.” Meanwhile, Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) continue to review the wedding guest list to figure out who betrayed Rosalee and Monroe to the Wesenrein.

Grimm Cast to Support Portland’s OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital with Grimmster Endowment

The cast and crew of NBC’s hit TV drama “Grimm,” which is set and filmed in Portland, Oregon, are supporting OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital with the establishment of the Grimmster Endowment. Grimm fans are encouraged to support the endowment by making a donation or by participating in an exclusive online auction of memorabilia from the show.

Grimm – “Wesenrein” Recap. Haters Gonna Hate.

#Grimm comes back from winter break with a vengeance! “Wesenrein” is dark, gritty, bloody, and unapologetic. It’s also engrossing, evoking emotions I don’t normally feel while watching Grimm. I was ready to hurt someone and I’m still feeling antsy after all is said and done. “Wesenrein” picks up with Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) screaming as she stares at her transformation. We also continue with the story line of Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) being kidnapped right in front of his house.

Grimm – “Chupacabra” Recap. Urban Legends vs. Truth.

When a local Portland doctor, Diego Hoyos (Max Arciniega) returns from a long trip in the Dominican Republic, strange things begin to happen to him that he can’t explain. When one of his neighbors is found exsanguinated, a witness seems to believe it’s the work of “El Chupacabra.” An urban legend, the “Chupacabra” is believed to look like a goat that sucks the blood of its victims. As fall finales go, “Chupacabra” is fantastic! It is suspenseful, dramatic, and filled with surprises that will surely tide you over until Grimm returns in January 2015.

Grimm – “The Grimm Who Stole Christmas” Recap. A Reason For Fruitcake.

Christmastime is here; time for fun and time for stinky, hairy goblins to cheer. While Nick (David Giuntoli) and Hank (Russell Hornsby) investigate strange home invasions by odd looking creatures, Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni) and Josh (Lucas Near-Verbrugghe) look into finding out more about the attacks on Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner).

Grimm – “Highway of Tears” Recap. Wonder Grimm Powers, Activate!

The tales of love and sacrifice are written in history. Both humans and Wesen alike participate. In “Highway of Tears,” Komodo dragon type Wesen sacrifice humans to satiate their goddess “Kali-ma.” Not a fair analogy, but it is what it is. People make sacrifices to save the ones they love. And with the phrase, ‘All is fair in love and war,’ sometimes sleeping with the enemy is the only way to get the upper hand.

Grimm – “Cry Luison” Recap. Big Bad Wolf.

The title of this week’s installment of #Grimm is a play on the old phrase “cry wolf,” and aptly, “Cry Luison” deals with a wealthy heiress who claims to be taunted by a talking wolf, driving her closer and closer to the brink of a mental breakdown. Meanwhile, the potion Elizabeth (Louise Lomard) made to help Nick (David Giuntoli) has specific requirements, one of which Nick may not want to utilize. Plus, the news of Nick’s Grimm status has been accidentally circulated by our favorite ice beaver wesen Bud (guest star Danny Bruno), who comes calling on Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni) to help save Nick’s life.

Grimm – “Dyin’ on a Prayer” Recap. Giant Clay Golems and Talking Walls

Grimm isn’t always about fighting wesens; sometimes, the battles are with other supernatural entities. Such is the case in “Dyin’ on a Prayer” when a Rabbi tries to help his family by summoning an ancient creature known as a “Golem.” Meanwhile, mama Hexenbiest, Elizabeth (Louise Lomard), continues to riddle out how Adalind (Claire Coffee) made the strange potion so she can help Nick (David Giuntoli) regain his Grimm powers.

Grimm – “The Last Fight” Recap. And in This Corner…

“The Last Fight” doesn’t skimp on the Wesen bloodshed when we are introduced to some bull-headed (pun intended) fighters who don’t fight fair. Meanwhile, Captain Sean Renard’s (Sasha Roiz) mother Elizabeth (Louise Lombard) helps Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) retrace Adalind’s (Claire Coffee) steps in creating the potion used to strip Nick’s (David Giuntoli) Grimm powers. Plus, Sgt. Wu (Reggie Lee) is relentless in his search for the truth about Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni).

Grimm – “Thanks for the Memories” Review. A Tentacle for Your Thoughts.

It’s been a little over five months since we last laid eyes on Portland á la Grimm. As season premieres go, “Thanks for the Memories” doesn’t disappoint; in fact, it has me excited for what this new season of Grimm has in store. I enjoy how the beginning of “Thanks for the Memories” addresses what transpired in the season three finale and continues along the path any good police procedural would — the investigation into the captain’s shooter and his subsequent beheading.

Grimm – “Blonde Ambition” Season Finale Recap. To Be or Not To Be…a Grimm.

As season finales go, Grimm gets it right. “Blonde Ambition” makes you gasp, ooh and ahh, and so much more. It is chock full of shocking, jaw dropping, and emotional moments that will surely enchant the most grizzled Grimm fan. I know I’m thoroughly delighted.
Here Comes the Bride…Ignore Her Drunken Sister
What’s a wedding between two Wesen without a few hiccups, right?

Grimm – “The Inheritance” Recap. Witch’s Brew.

“The Inheritance” is a thought provoking episode, giving us a few more things to question without providing answers to much else. The Verrat know there is another key so it’s only a matter of time before the royals find out. Adalind’s twisted witch’s brew is complete and her transformation is…let’s just say I’m reminded of the polyjuice potion from Harry Potter, and she even has a witch’s hat she uses as a bong of sorts to inhale the fumes of the concoction.

Grimm – “My Fair Wesen” Recap. Learning Curve.

After last week’s “Nobody Knows the Trubel I’ve Seen,” I had high hopes “My Fair Wesen” would be just as exciting. Unfortunately, it misses the mark just a bit. With only two episodes left this season, you would think “My Fair Wesen” would step it up a notch, giving us more insight into how this season’s events will be wrapped up. While there are clues in “My Fair Wesen,” I wanted more.

Grimm – “Nobody Knows the Trubel I’ve Seen” Recap. New Grimm on the Block?

Is it just me or does this week’s Grimm feel…different? I mean that in a good way because it almost is different. There’s a new Grimm in town but she doesn’t quite know what she is…yet. Newcomer Jacqueline Toboni, who plays Theresa Rubel (aka Trubel/Trouble), is a fresh face, adding a new vitality to Grimm’s Portland charmingly weird beat. Making her screen debut in “Nobody Knows the Trubel I’ve Seen,” Toboni makes a lasting impression, not only with her beauty but with her ability to hold her own against seasoned actors.

Grimm – “The Law of Sacrifice” Retrospective. Royal Drama

Grimm knocks it out of the park with “The Law of Sacrifice.” This episode is exciting from the moment it starts to its surprising end. Battle lines are drawn and the royals come to Portland to claim the baby. The reach of the Verrat and the royal powers goes deep within the U.S. government, throwing a wrench into things for those protecting the child.

Grimm – “Synchronicity” Review: Not Out of the Woods Yet.

After a short break, Grimm returns with “Synchronicity,” picking up with Nick (David Giuntoli) pondering whether he should be Monroe’s (Silas Wier Mitchell) best man. What’s interesting is something Hank (Russell Hornsby) asks, “How do Wesen even know you’re a Grimm?” I’ve thought about that myself.

Wesen Ring Master. Recap: Grimm – “The Show Must Go On”

Can you smell the caramel corn, funnel cakes, cotton candy, and animal dung? Welcome to the “Carnival Metamorphosia” where Wesen aren’t afraid to show their true nature…or are they? The evil ring master, Mr. Hedig (guest star Carlo Rota), isn’t one to suffer fools and with a crack of his whip, elicits forced “woges” from each Wesen on stage for all to see. It’s not really “magic” or elaborate Chinese masks as the audience is led to believe.

All Wrapped Up. Review: Grimm – “Once We Were Gods”

I’ve been fascinated with Egyptian legends and mummies since I was a little girl. One of my writing idols is Agatha Christie, who married an archeologist and lived in Egypt for some time. When I realized “Once We Were Gods” had an Egyptian theme, I was extremely excited. While there are a few areas that are lacking, overall, “Once We Were Gods” doesn’t disappoint. It’s chock full of mystery and intrigue, including an Anubis sarcophagus, new Wesen and folklore, and the forced betrayal I knew was going to happen.

Some Traditions Suck. Review: Grimm – “Mommy Dearest”

Season 3, Episode 14 Air Date: Friday, March 7, 2014, 9/8c on NBC Rating: [rating=4]   “I am going off to a house and entering like a snake…I will devour their babes and make their hearts ache.”— Grimm Somebody’s mom makes a visit to Portland but it isn’t who you think. “Mommy Dearest” is one …
