Nurse Jackie Series Finale – “I Say a Little Prayer” Retrospective. The Fat Lady Has Sung.

Pardon me while I wipe the tears from my eyes. Not only is it a sad day for the doctors and nurses at All Saints Hospital, it’s a sad day for the fans of Nurse Jackie as “I Say a Little Prayer” bids adieu to our favorite drug addicted nurse once and for all. While the majority of the series finale is happy and fun to watch, the ending is anything but.

Nurse Jackie – “Vigilante Jones” Review. Everything Happens for a Reason.

“Vigilante Jones” is one of the best darkly comedic episodes I’ve seen from Nurse Jackie, and I’ve seen them all. It begins with some terrific feel good moments but that all changes when it comes to both Vigilante and Dr. Prince. I know Nurse Jackie must wind down the show’s various story lines but I wish they had brought Shalhoub aboard sooner, and with a different, less melancholy one. He is that good as Dr. Prince.

Nurse Jackie – “Jackie and the Wolfe” Review. A Day of Reckoning.

“Jackie and the Wolfe” is extremely well-written and directed, and does a great job of setting up the remaining episodes of Nurse Jackie’s final season.

Nurse Jackie – “Serviam in Caritate” Review. The Dr. Prince Fan Club.

In keeping with the tone of Nurse Jackie’s final season, episodic writer Heidi Schreck and director Brendan Walsh hit it out of the park with “Serviam in Caritate.” The audience learns a lot about several characters’ backgrounds, which explains a great deal about some of the things they do.

Nurse Jackie – “Managed Care” Review. Vultures All Around.

Writer Abe Sylvia penned an extremely emotional episode with “Managed Care” and director Jesse Peretz expertly brings Sylvia’s vision to fruition. From Zoey (Merritt Wever) and Carrie’s (Betty Gilpin) fun new relationship, to a cancer patient’s unwillingness to fight for his life and the revelation tying him to Dr. Prince (special guest star Tony Shalhoub), I switched between grinning and a tear or two trickling down my cheeks.

Nurse Jackie – “High Noon” Review and Photos. Save Our Saints.

What can I say other than “High Noon” is another high caliber episode of #NurseJackie. Wever steals almost the entire 30 minutes of “High Noon,” although Wallem is a close second. I love the Sally Field imitation he does of a scene from the critically acclaimed movie Norma Rae.

Nurse Jackie – “Coop Out” Review. A Romanian Goodbye.

Instead of a look back at some of Coop’s best and worst moments at All Saints, Fairey, unlike many other writers in Hollywood, takes a different route. “Coop Out” is simply another great episode of #NurseJackie.

Nurse Jackie – “Nice Ladies” Review. The Best Laid Plans.

This season of #NurseJackie is turning out to be one of its best with terrific acting, great dialogue, and exceptional directing. As a matter of fact, writer Abe Sylvia and director Keith Gordon do a stellar job with “Nice Ladies.”

Nurse Jackie – “Godfathering” Review and Photos. Blue Toes.

Writer Liz Flahive and director Brian Walsh do a terrific job with “Godfathering.” The dialogue in this episode is stellar, making you laugh in all the right places, and Walsh’s direction and choice of background music are spot on. “Godfathering” is a great character study of Zoey, Gloria, Coop, Jackie, and Eddie.

Nurse Jackie– “Deal” Review. By Any Means Necessary.

“Deal” is another excellent episode of #NurseJackie. Any episode that highlights Wallem’s fantastic voice is a hit in my eyes. Add to that brilliant direction by Julie Anne Robinson, Wever’s superb acting, and writer Tom Straw’s humorous dialogue, and you have a sure winner.

Nurse Jackie Season 7 Premiere – “Clean” Review. Facing Reality.

“Clean,” the seventh season premiere of Nurse Jackie picks up right where “Flight,” the sixth season finale left off, catching everyone up on the things Jackie (Edie Falco) did that caused her current situation.
