News/Video: STARZ Releases Official Key Art for American Gods Season Two to Begin March 10

Starz announced the eight-episode second season of the epic series “American Gods” will premiere on Sunday, March 10th, 2019 at 8PM ET/PT on STARZ and will be available the same day on the STARZ App.

Starz and FremantleMedia North America (FMNA) announced that Dean Winters (“Divorce,” John Wick), Devery Jacobs (“Cardinal,” “The Order”) and Kahyun Kim (“Shameless,” Freaky Friday) have been cast as Mr. Town, Sam Black Crow and New Media, respectively, in the sophomore season of the critically-acclaimed STARZ Original series “American Gods.” Season two of the eight-episode one-hour scripted drama series returns to Starz in 2019 with Dean Winters cast in guest role as Mr. Town. A strong believer in progress, Mr. Town is tasked by Mr. World (Crispin Glover) to find out what Shadow (Ricky Whittle) knows about Mr. Wednesday’s (Ian McShane) plan. His brutal efficiency and technique just may get him the answers to his curious questions.

News/Video: Starz’s American Gods Begins Production on Season 2 at House on the Rock

Starz, a Lionsgate company and FremantleMedia North America’s sophomore season of the critically-acclaimed show, “American Gods” will be giving fans what they have been waiting for – a meeting of the gods. Production kicked off last week at the Wisconsin roadside attraction, The House on the Rock, which is a quintessential location in Neil Gaiman’s acclaimed contemporary fantasy novel from which the series is adapted.

Casting News: Dane Cook Cast As Robbie In AMERICAN GODS

Comedian and actor Dane Cook has been cast as Robbie in the upcoming television adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s AMERICAN GODS. Robbie (Cook), Shadow’s (Ricky Whittle) best friend and employer, promises to hold Shadow’s job for him while he’s in prison. Robbie is married to Audrey (Betty Gilpin), Shadow’s wife Laura’s (Emily Browning) best friend, and he provides another shoulder for Laura to cry on while Shadow is away.

Casting News: AMERICAN GODS Adds More Deities with Orlando Jones Cast As Mr. Nancy and Demore Barnes as Mr. Ibis

Starz and FremantleMedia North America (FMNA) announced that Orlando Jones (“Madiba,” “Sleepy Hollow”) will play Mr. Nancy, the old African trickster god more commonly known as Anansi, and one of Mr. Wednesday’s (Ian McShane) oldest confidantes. Like Wednesday, Nancy is ready to bring this new America (and its new gods) to its knees, desperate to light a fire and watch the whole world burn. Demore Barnes (“12 Monkeys”) has also been added to the cast as Mr. Ibis, the keeper of stories, past and present, and he recounts them with great relish. His old fashioned sensibilities do not preclude a wry wit.

Starz and FremantleMedia North America (FMNA) began production this week on the 10-episode first season of “American Gods,” the adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s acclaimed contemporary fantasy novel. Shooting has commenced in Toronto, Canada and will continue in additional locations across America. Joining the previously announced cast are Cloris Leachman (“Malcom in The Middle,” “Raising Hope”) as Zorya Vechernyaya, Peter Stormare (“Fargo,” “Prison Break”) as Czernobog, Chris Obi (“Snow White and the Huntsman,” “The Counselor”) as Anubis, and Mousa Kraish (“Superbad,” “Fast & Furious”) as The Jinn.

The series begins shooting next month.
