New epic thriller THE PASSAGE will premiere Monday, Jan. 14 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Based on author Justin Cronin’s best-selling trilogy of the same name, THE PASSAGE is an expansive, character-driven action drama series written by Liz Heldens (“Friday Night Lights”). THE PASSAGE focuses on Project Noah, a secret medical facility where scientists are experimenting with a dangerous virus that could lead to the cure for all disease, but also carries the potential to wipe out the human race. Freeform announced that “Good Trouble,” the highly anticipated spin-off of the groundbreaking family drama “The Fosters,” will premiere on TUESDAY, JAN. 8. The pilot, executive produced and directed by Jon M. Chu (“Crazy Rich Asians”), follows Callie (Maia Mitchell) and Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) as they embark on the next phase of their young adult lives in Los Angeles, as Mariana tackles the male-dominated world of tech and Callie faces the harsh realities of the federal legal system clerking for a federal judge.

Freeform announced the four actors cast in the highly anticipated pilot “PARTY OF FIVE.” Brandon Larracuente, Emily Tosta, Niko Guardado and Elle Paris Legaspi will take on the roles of the Buendía siblings; Emilio, Lucia, Beto and Valentina, respectively; who struggle to survive together as a family after their parents are deported to Mexico. From Sony Pictures Television, the Freeform pilot will be a modern reimagining of the groundbreaking original series by Christopher Keyser and Amy Lippman, who reunited to write the pilot alongside Michal Zebede (“Castle”), with Rodrigo Garcia (“Nine Lives”) set to direct.

Can You Ever Forgive Me is an engrossing drama sprinkled with dark comedic moments and plenty of sarcasm. There is also tremendous sadness, especially regarding Lee Israel who is played with the utmost aplomb by Melissa McCarthy. As Lee, McCarthy transforms herself into an unapologetic asshole of a human being. The way McCarthy carries herself in Can You Ever Forgive Me highlights what a magnificently talented actress she is. Her portrayal of Lee Israel is vastly different from the slap-stick and physically comedic roles she’s played in films like Bridesmaids and Spy, and I loved it.
