TV News: Cinemax Announces the Cast for Season 2 of its Highly Addictive Series, “Strike Back”

From the moment Strike Back killed off Col. Eleanor Grant (Amanda Mealing) in the season finale, I’ve been anxiously awaiting news of which cast members would return for season two of this intense and highly addictive series.

David Labrava Talks about His Character, Future Projects and the Sons of Anarchy Season 4 Finale

David Labrava can’t be anything but “Happy” regarding his involvement with the FX drama series, “Sons of Anarchy.” On November 9, I had the opportunity to participate in a “Q&A” with the actor. Although he wouldn’t share any major twists for the Season 4 finale, he elaborated on some important details about the mindset of the MC members.

Bad Breath, A Cursed Vase and Indiana Jones. Review: It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia – “The Gang Gets Trapped”

“The Gang Gets Trapped” is just pure, clean, belly-laughing fun, filled with outstandingly witty dialogue. It doesn’t get any better than this, people. Each week, I think Sunny can’t possibly get any funnier, and then it does. I’m happy to say I laughed throughout the entire show. And I’m pretty sure you will too.

Review: American Horror Story “Piggy Piggy” #ahsfx (Urban legends and dark secrets lurk)

1994 – After going on an unexplained shooting rampage at Westfield High School, Tate (Evan Peters) waits in his room as SWAT storms in. And so begins “Piggy Piggy.” American Horror Story continues to challenge conventional television, pushing the envelope with darker writing and imagery than we’ve seen in many moons. I love the acting, the set design, the direction, and the mystery of it all. Wednesdays are fast becoming my favorite day of the week!

Review: New Girl “Cece Crashes” (Yes, We Know You’re A Model, Cece)

The point of “Cece Crashes” is beyond me. Are we supposed to see how Jess interacts with her friend during a crisis, or how the guys fall all over themselves when a beautiful woman is around?

Review: Sons of Anarchy – Season 4, Episode 10 “Hands” – The Dangers and Fallout From Speed Dialing

“Something is wrong Wayne,” Gemma (Katey Sagal) confides to Unser (Dayton Callie). She’s certain that her husband Clay (Ron Perlman) is about to unleash something very bad. Gemma is right and in spite of her investigative abilities, she’s unaware Clay has already released the Kraken via speed dial – meaning the thing that ’once it’s been set in motion, it can be stopped.’

Review: Terra Nova “Nightfall” (Watch the Lights Go Out and Nothing Happens)

“Nightfall” could be so much more interesting. The good parts are cut short and mostly contain the Sixers and their secret dealings within the colony. They slip in and out easily and without much notice (or explanation). Forget the diversion they set off before entering Terra Nova (loved the Spinosaurus by the way), how do they get by Taylor’s guard unnoticed?

Review: Enlightened – Season 1, Episode 5, “Not Good Enough Mothers” – Changing the World is Tough Business

It’s a new day and Amy Jellicoe (Laura Dern) has a new obsession. She wants to help Rosa Munoz (actress uncredited), an illegal immigrant and mother of two, from being deported. A series of incidents get in the way of her good intentions. Amy’s car won’t start. Consummate shit-starter Janice (Michaela Watkins) alerts Amy about former assistant Krista’s (Sarah Burns) baby shower knowing full well Amy hasn’t been invited. Then, inspired by Rosa’s situation, Amy wants to start a women’s activist group at work and reaches out to HR head Judy Harvey (Amy Hill) to support the group. Will things work out well for Amy?

Suspicions Abound as Polygraphs are Passed. Review: Homeland – “The Good Soldier”

Homeland continues to wow me with its great writing, acting and thrilling plot lines. It’s mesmerizing and addictive, and a wonderful character study. Thankfully, “The Good Soldier” does away with the ‘is he or isn’t he’ question by throwing suspicions on Saul. Staying with that theme could deflate the show so I’m glad the powers-that-be recognize the need to lead us somewhere else. The question now is, is Saul really the mole we’re being led to believe he is? Or is it someone else? Gotta love the intrigue in this show!

TV News: #SOAFX Sons of Anarchy Fans Will Get Extra Episode For 4th Season

In a press release today from FX Network: FX has ordered an extra episode of Sons of Anarchy that will extend the current fourth season to 14 episodes with the series finale now airing on Tuesday, December 6 at 10:00 PM ET/PT

Pan Am – “Truth or Dare” – An Exploration of Grey Areas

In “Truth or Dare,” Laura (Margot Robbie) and Kate Cameron (Kelli Gardner) face fairly greyish moral and personal dilemmas, all related to ‘boy trouble’ as the show turns to more solemn topics such as the recruitment of Cold War spies and racial barriers. A coffee run and a playful announcement opens up an opportunity for Colette Valois (Karine Vanasse) to spend some quality time with Captain Dean Lowrey (Mike Vogel) in the cockpit.

Review: The Walking Dead “Cherokee Rose” (I’m Staying Away from Wells)

“Cherokee Rose” feels like a filler episode and I’d like to know what’s coming next that we needed some sort of preparation. There are some positive points to the episode but I don’t feel we learn anything new about the zombie crew (Rick and the gang) or the farmhouse dwellers.

Review: Hung “Money on the Floor” (That’s A Man? Really?)

I am a bit perplexed by the opening of “Money on the Floor”—I keep wondering if the woman sitting next to Ray is going to either pick him up or drug him. But I love that about Hung. Sometimes you just don’t know what you’ll get during an episode and those typically are the best ones.

Review: Boss – “Swallow” – Bring On The Game Changers

A dream about a steed and an accidental bed wetting headline the opening sequence of Boss’ third episode, “Swallow.” These two themes weigh heavily on Chicago Mayor Tom Kane’s (Kelsey Grammer) mind and for a good reason.

Photos & Commentary: The Secret Circle – “Beneath” (Truth or Dare and Power Struggles)

“Beneath” – A road trip for the circle takes a horrible turn — After not hearing from her grandmother for a couple of days, Cassie becomes concerned and wants to go look for her. Diana decides the entire Circle should go in case Jane is in trouble. She also invites Jake along, much to Adam’s dismay. A storm turns the day trip into an overnight excursion, so Faye suggests a little game of Truth or Dare to liven up the evening. However, things take a horrible turn when Faye is forced to reckon with someone from her past.

Review: The Vampire Diaries “Ordinary People” (Stefan Wuvs His Brother… Aww…)

Brotherly love is pretty strong but it is nothing compared to a woman scorned. Now that Rebekah knows the truth about her mother’s death, what do you think she’ll do next? I don’t see her sitting around and doing nothing, that’s for sure.

On November 3, 2011, I had the pleasure of participating in a conference call with Silar Weir Mitchell, who plays Monroe on NBC’s new show, Grimm. He spoke about playing a werewolf, where his inspiration for the character came from, and what we can expect to see going forward, among other things.

Rockmond Dunbar Reveals Sons of Anarchy Season Finale Will Be Surprising

Personable, polite, film director, producer — all words that describe Rockmond Dunbar who plays Charming’s new sheriff Eli Roosevelt in the FX hit drama Sons of Anarchy. Via a conference call on November 2, 2011, Dunbar shared some insight on his character’s background, motivations and views on dealing with SAMCRO, Juice Ortiz (Theo Rossi) and USDA Lincoln Potter (Ray McKinnon).

Review: #Bones (@BONESonFOX) “The Memories in the Shallow Grave” (Pregnancy, I love you’s, and Booth cooking…naked?)

Finally, the long awaited seventh season begins and we find our lovable couple in the midst of the second trimester. I’m extremely happy to have Bones back each week to salivate over Booth, ooh and ahh over the relationship between the adorable couple, and to dive head first into more interesting cases.

Facebook, Rape and a Virus. Review: It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia – “The ANTI-Social Network”

Season 7, Episode 8 – “The ANTI-Social Network” Air Date: Thursday, November 03, 2011, 10:00 pm ET/PT Rating: [rating=5] When Dee (Kaitlin Olson) receives an invite to a bar—via a link on her Facebook page—she, Mac (Rob McElhenney), Dennis (Glenn Howerton), Charlie (Charlie Day), and Frank (Danny DeVito) go check it out. It’s one of …

Review: American Horror Story “Halloween, Pt. 2” (A scorned mistress and plenty of disgruntled ghosts) #ahsfx

The creepy basement seems to be the beating black heart of the house. Hayden rises from the dead to make sure the truth about her and Ben’s affair is revealed to Vivien. Violet wants to take her relationship with Tate to the next level but they are interrupted by some gnarly teens who hold a grudge against Tate.

TV News and Clips: Showtime Gears Up for 2012 with New and Returning Series

Showtime Gears Up for New and Returning Series in 2012

Review: Terra Nova “Bylaw” (Saving Dinosaurs Now? WTF?)

I hate to give up on the show but my interest is beginning to fade. So much so, I’m not looking forward to the next episode.
