A Varied Perspective. Advance No-Spoiler Review of Graceland – “Pilot”

Your Entertainment Corner (YEC) decided to take a different approach with this Advance Review of Graceland. We thought it might be fun, and informative, if each of us wrote about what we did or didn’t like about USA Network’s newest original dramatic series. So, here’s what we all have to say.

The Grim Reaper Kitty. Retrospective: The Big C — Hereafter – “Quality of Death”

The decision to get hospice care is to unburden her family from having to take care of her but the car ride to the hospice center becomes an emotional one filled with anger, a dose of reality, and, oddly enough, “sassing” a police officer. And we can’t forget the domino of water works.

Video: “The Killing” – First Look at Season 3

The Killing Season 3 debuts on Sun., Jun. 2 at 8/7c on AMC.

Jackie Goes on a Date. Retrospective: Nurse Jackie – “Good Thing”

Jackie’s revelation about how stressed she is about her date with Frank is honest and realistic. While it’s nice to see her smile, I think we all know how difficult this must be for her. It’s been a long time since she’s been out in the dating world. And Grace (Ruby Jerins) doesn’t help the situation any by sneaking out with her boyfriend Danny (Danny Flaherty) instead of being where she’s supposed to be.

For Fellow StarGazers… Book Review: “Enchanted by Starlight” by Tina L. Hook

I would recommend Enchanted by Starlight to anyone who enjoys paranormal aspects in a romance novel, and a good story of love lost, won, and let go.

Was I The Only One Looking Out For Zombies? Review: The Vampire Diaries – “The Walking Dead”

Consistency aside, “The Walking Dead” isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I’m somewhat looking forward to the season finale if for no other reason than to see how much terror The Five will bring about to the vampires in town.

If you’re like me, you can’t wait for the return of The Walking Dead. It just can’t come soon enough for me. So, I was thrilled to learn AMC released today a First Look photo from the new season of The Walking Dead.

Starfish Spencer. Review: Psych – “Office Space”

For much of season seven, I was concerned that Gus has been reduced to more of a minor character. At times, it even seems like Woody (Kurt Fuller) has been given scenes that in previous seasons would have been written for Gus. Psych has always been about the friendship between Shawn and Gus and when the writers deviate from that, they lose some of the show’s identity. Thankfully, “Office Space” is a fun episode that puts Shawn and Gus’ relationship back on track.

Not So a-MUSE-ing. Review: Grimm – “Kiss of the Muse”

While “Kiss of the Muse” does tie up some loose ends, it lacks in excitement and allure. I will say I love the introduction of increasingly more exotic Wesen creatures. The Musai is quite intriguing, even having some links to the famed artist Van Gogh and possibly the reason he loped off his ear.

As I surmised in my review of the season finale of The Americans, Annet Mahendru will return in Season 2 but this time as a regular member of the cast instead of as a guest star. She’s not the only one to achieve regular status, though, as Alison Wright has also been promoted to a series regular. Susan Misner, FBI Agent Stan Beeman’s (Noah Emmerich) wife, has already been upped to series regular.
