Marriage…Infidelity…”Satisfaction” USA’s Newest Drama Series Premieres TONIGHT

Satisfaction – Premieres TONIGHT on USA- Thursday, July 17 at 10/9c

You’re the Worst – Series Premiere “Pilot” Review. Don’t Spit On It.

While You’re the Worst isn’t the most horrible series I’ve ever seen, I would venture to say it’s an acquired taste. It’s raunchy. If you’re a bit shy, be warned; there is a lot of sexual activity going on in the first 15 minutes of the episode. While there are no gratuitous shots of boobs or genitals (great camera maneuvering), the implied acts are pretty straightforward. The flipping and flopping, hair pulling, spitting (eww), and dropping to your knees action…you know exactly what the heck is going on.

Dermot Mulroney (My Best Friend’s Wedding, Wedding Date, Must Love Dogs) has joined season five of the critically acclaimed hit SHOWTIME comedy series SHAMELESS, guest starring in a season-long story arc. During a July 14, 2014 conference call, I had the pleasure of speaking with Nat Faxon and Judy Greer about their new FX comedy series Married.

Tyrant – “Sins of the Father” Review. Will History Be Repeated?

“Sins of the Father” is another intense episode providing more insight into each of the characters. It also sheds light on how militants operate, and the manner in which the people of a Middle Eastern country are forced to live. Against all odds, Jamal is trying to change the way his people look at him as a ruler with the help of his brother, Bassam, who, himself, receives comfort and advice from his wife Molly (Jennifer Finnigan). We all need someone, don’t we?

The Strain Series Premiere – “Night Zero” Review. Not Your Average Virus.

The Strain is disgustingly fantastic! I said these very same words to the series’ Co-Creator/Executive Producer/Director Guillermo del Toro and Show Runner/Executive Producer/Writer Carlton Cuse on a conference call Wednesday, July 9, 2014. The Strain is a visually stimulating and visceral series. The production value and cinematography are film quality. It’s as if you are watching a one hour movie – a damn good movie to boot. The series premiere, “Night Zero,” sets up what will be an intense first season, beginning with an unknown contagion that brings a Regis “767 wide body” air jet, and all its passengers and crew to a dead stop.

The Strain Conference Call – Guillermo Del Toro and Carlton Cuse

The passion and genuine camaraderie they have for The Strain and each other is one of the best ‘bromance’ partnerships in television right now. Guillermo said, “…and I feel this is our baby, neither just Chuck or Carlton’s or myself, is the three of us. It’s like Three Men and a Baby for vampires, and I think that it will be essential for me to continue to be involved in that way.”

Dominion – “The Flood” Retrospective. A World Worth Saving?

Near death experiences, awkward family reunions, and prophetic messages are the center of the latest episode of Dominion, aptly titled, “The Flood.” If you think the fate of Archangel Michael (Tom Wisdom) is cause enough for concern, you haven’t seen anything yet.

Ray Donovan Season 2 Premiere – “Yo Soy Capitán” Review. Problems Galore.

Season 2 of Ray Donovan opens with Ray (Liev Schreiber) in the midst of an extremely frightening dream. If your dreams are an extension of your real life, as some people say, I am worried about what’s in store for our favorite fixer this season. Ray’s way of proving he’s ok when he wakes up from the nightmare seems odd to me. Is it because he loves having that kind of sex with his wife Abby (Paula Malcolmson), or is it his way of dealing with the events of his childhood?

Wilfred Conference Call with Actor Elijah Wood

Since playing Mike in the drama fantasy film Radio Flyer, I have been a huge fan of Elijah Wood. On July 10, 2014, during a conference call, I spoke with Wood about his current show Wilfred, which is based on the Australian SBS series of the same name.
