The Blacklist – “The Decembrist” Mid-Season Finale Retrospective. Unlikely Alliance. 7

“The Decembrist” opens with a flashback showing events relating to Tom (Ryan Eggold) and his gunshot wound, which, at the time, appeared to have killed him. The scene then cuts to the present as Agent Keen (Megan Boone) continues to struggle over what to do with him. Tom has been her prisoner illegally for the last four months.

Sleepy Hollow – “Heartless” Recap. Heart and Soul Sucking Demon.

Sleepy Hollow – “Heartless” Recap. Heart and Soul Sucking Demon. 8

While “Heartless” delves into the macabre as Henry (John Noble) unleashes a dangerous “succubus,” or “Incordata – the heartless,” on unsuspecting victims, the underlying message is a variable mix dealing with the faith you should have in those you love and opening your heart to new possibilities, even during inopportune moments. But the succubus (guest star Caroline Ford) isn’t sucking the life force out of her victims to satiate her lustful needs; oh no, she’s on a mission. I wonder if they make baby bottles for demons.

News: Showtime Renews Both Homeland and The Affair

News: Showtime Renews Both Homeland and The Affair 10

As an avid fan and weekly reviewer of both Homeland and The Affair, today’s news couldn’t have made me happier. Showtime has renewed Homeland for a fifth season, and The Affair for a second season, with 12 and 10 episodes respectively to air in 2015.

The Walking Dead – “Self Help” Review. The Mullet Lied.

The Walking Dead - “Self Help” Review. The Mullet Lied. 11

I appreciate the foray into the other survivors’ stories. Getting to know these strangers makes them closer to family in a way.

Homeland – “Redux” Retrospective. Full Circle.

Homeland – “Redux” Retrospective. Full Circle. 12

Homeland has spent the majority of this season trying to recreate itself following two seasons of not-so-great ratings, specifically by giving us a Carrie Mathison who seems to have her head on straight…Now, in “Redux,” due to a sneaky switch in medications, Carrie becomes paranoid, giving us bipolar Carrie 1.0 once again—something I thought we wouldn’t see since it failed to work in any other season than the first.

The Affair – “105” Review. The Victim is Revealed.

The Affair – “105” Review. The Victim is Revealed. 13

Color me shocked! We’re only halfway through the season and we already know who the “victim” is. That leaves five more episodes to figure out who the killer is, if, in fact, there is a killer. Could creator/writer Sarah Treem be that sneaky that this whole thing will turn out to be an accident? Now that would be a twist for the ages!

Haven — “Morbidity” Recap. An Outbreak and Dancing Bears, Oh My!

Haven — “Morbidity” Recap. An Outbreak and Dancing Bears, Oh My! 14

“Morbidity” is a very intriguing episode with something very disturbing lying beneath the surface of the “dancing bear” trouble and illness plaguing Haven. “Morbidity” begins with a haunting dream sequence. Someone is running through the woods, bodies are lying lifeless on the ground, “Croatoan” is carved into a tree, and a “thinnie” is wide open. When Dave (John Dunsworth) wakes up in a panic, infected leg throbbing, he calls an old friend for help. Meanwhile, Dwight (Adam Copeland) tries his best to stall the CDC’s Dr. Charlotte Cross (guest star Laura Mennell) from discovering the “troubles.”

Grimm – “The Last Fight” Recap. And in This Corner…

Grimm – “The Last Fight” Recap. And in This Corner… 15

“The Last Fight” doesn’t skimp on the Wesen bloodshed when we are introduced to some bull-headed (pun intended) fighters who don’t fight fair. Meanwhile, Captain Sean Renard’s (Sasha Roiz) mother Elizabeth (Louise Lombard) helps Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) retrace Adalind’s (Claire Coffee) steps in creating the potion used to strip Nick’s (David Giuntoli) Grimm powers. Plus, Sgt. Wu (Reggie Lee) is relentless in his search for the truth about Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni).

Sleepy Hollow – “Deliverance” Recap. The Horrid King.

Sleepy Hollow – “Deliverance” Recap. The Horrid King. 23

“Deliverance” wastes no time jumping into the nightmare awaiting Katrina (Katia Winter) after the spider Henry (John Noble) created crawls into her mouth. This is no ordinary spider – it’s a seed, demon seed to be exact and Katrina is the “vessel” in which it will grow.
