News: Syfy Announces 2015 Summer Schedule
Syfy continues to roll out an ambitious slate of original programming, with its Summer 2015 programming schedule announced today. The slate includes two new scripted series: Killjoys, from the producers of Orphan Black, and Dark Matter, from the writers of Stargate Atlantis. Also on tap are the new unscripted game show Geeks Who Drink, hosted and executive produced by Zachary Levi; and returning seasons of scripted originals Defiance and Dominion, as well as fan-favorite Face Off. And of course, it wouldn’t be summer without Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!, which anchors Syfy’s second annual Sharknado Week this July.

News: Travel Channel Expands 2015 Programming Slate
Travel Channel has greenlit seven new series and one new pilot that illustrate the network’s vision for its travel entertainment programming – to connect viewers to the world and share its amazing places, people and stories. Three of the new series will inspire viewers to experience new locations and cultures around the globe: “50/50,” with Samantha Brown and Chris Grundy, is a spontaneous adventure with a twist, “Five Star Secrets,” hosted by hotel expert Anthony Melchiorri, is a behind-the-scenes look at the world’s best hotels and “Rev Runs Around the World” joins international icon Rev Run and his family on a worldwide journey as they test their limits with no set itinerary. Adventure and world exploration are the focus of the coming-of-age docu-series “Boy to Man,” with award-winning filmmaker Tim Noonan, and “Majestic America,” (wt) which showcases the breathtaking footage of America’s most beloved national parks. Host Curt Menefee of “Hello Goodbye” discovers travelers’ stories as they come and go from America’s busy airports, and host, acclaimed journalist and author Alison Stewart of “Follow Your Past” reveals American’s personal connections to history and extraordinary events. The network has also greenlit two half-hour episodes of a new pilot, “Relocated,” which follows professionals and their families as they consider one of the hardest decisions of their lives.

Smithsonian Channel Presents The Spy in the Hanoi Hilton Premiering April 27
A new Smithsonian Channel special will reveal one of the greatest secrets of the Vietnam War. THE SPY IN THE HANOI HILTON, premiering Monday, April 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, uncovers the true story of POWs inside the Hỏa Lò Prison, known as the Hanoi Hilton, who created a high-level espionage operation that reached all the way to the CIA and the White House. This included sending radio transmissions to the Pentagon and President Nixon’s White House during the brutal Christmas Bombings of 1972, signaling that POWs inside the Hanoi Hilton were still alive and that the raid should continue.

Castle – “Sleeper” Recap. Snooze Button.
After a long three week hiatus, Castle returns with what is supposed to be an exciting episode highlighting the events leading to Castle’s (Nathan Fillion) disappearance and what transpired in the two months he was gone. While we do get a lot of answers in “Sleeper,” I’m left wanting. Perhaps I’m having a weird dream like Castle’s and this episode isn’t real. Unfortunately, it is. Don’t get me wrong, there are some intriguing turns of events in “Sleeper” that have me questioning exactly where the story goes from Castle’s involvement with a terrorist Al-Qaida threat.

Nurse Jackie– “Deal” Review. By Any Means Necessary.
“Deal” is another excellent episode of #NurseJackie. Any episode that highlights Wallem’s fantastic voice is a hit in my eyes. Add to that brilliant direction by Julie Anne Robinson, Wever’s superb acting, and writer Tom Straw’s humorous dialogue, and you have a sure winner.

Bitten – “Bad Blood” and “Scare Tactics” Season 2 Premiere Review. A Whole New Otherworld.
It’s been months since the season one finale of Bitten left viewers at the edge of their seats with Philip’s (Paul Greene) shocking death and the kidnapping of Logan’s (Michael Xavier) very pregnant significant other, Rachel (Genelle Williams). In a whopping two hour season premiere, Bitten returns with a vengeance in “Bad Blood” and “Scare Tactics,” delivering action packed story lines as well as introducing some new characters along the way.

Grimm – “Mishipeshu” Recap. He’s Got Spirit…Animal.
Not all fairy tales have happy endings and Grimm is taking the road less traveled in the so-called love story of its main couple, Nick (David Giuntoli) and Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch). Relishing in the darker side of things, the ominous tone the writers and producers are taking with Grimm fascinates me. The only downside of going a bit darker is the pacing. While the intriguing Native American aspect of “Mishipeshu,” this week’s episode, intrigues me, I want the writers to focus more on the saga of the newly turned Hexenbiest Juliette and her journey into the temptations of being a powerful witch.

I didn’t have to share the room with other journalists (who were all sitting in the next room waiting for their turn) – it was just me sitting across from director Gren Wells, and actors Robert Patrick and Robert Sheehan. To say I was nervous would be an understatement. For those of you who know me, when I get nervous, my southern accent comes out.

Nothing symbolizes maturity more than getting your first job. Regardless of what that job is and what you go on to do in life, it’s something you never forget. Mine was a paper route delivering the AM and PM editions of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. It was a great way to earn money and I was lucky because my route was all apartment buildings, making my deliveries fast and easy.

Justified – “The Promise” Review. Goodbye, Harlan.
This isn’t a tear-jerker series finale, that’s for damn sure. If anything, Justified leaves its fans laughing more than anything, throwing in a gasp or two for good measure. What you thought could happen didn’t and what you hoped would happened also probably didn’t. As I’ve said numerous times throughout my reviews of this final season, Justified has become unpredictable; guess the episodes had to stay that way until the very surprising end. People die, and even hats aren’t safe in Harlan. It’s a bittersweet end but we have to say a final goodbye to Harlan County, Kentucky.
