Tyrant Season Premiere– “Mark of Cain” Review. My Brother’s Keeper.

Shot in Budapest, Tyrant’s “Mark of Cain” is one of the most powerful episodes of television I have seen in quite a while. Not only is the acting superb throughout, so are the dialogue and direction, to say nothing of the costume department…“Mark of Cain” elicits immense raw emotion from all the main characters, which produces a great deal of empathy from the viewing audience. Once again, I am hooked on Tyrant.

Penny Dreadful – “Little Scorpion” Review. Long Talk on a Dark Night.

A much needed getaway leads to a long moment of domesticity for Vanessa (Eva Green) and Ethan (Josh Hartnett). But they are not the typical couple nor is their time together quiet for long. Meanwhile, back in London, Ferdinand Lyle (Simon Russell Beale) continues translating the relics with Dr. Victor Frankenstein’s (Harry Treadaway) assistance. Their discovery is quite unnerving and explains much about the unique connection between Vanessa and Ethan. And then there’s our lovely Lily (Billie Piper), who shows us a whole new side to her burgeoning personality.

Nurse Jackie – “Jackie and the Wolfe” Review. A Day of Reckoning.

“Jackie and the Wolfe” is extremely well-written and directed, and does a great job of setting up the remaining episodes of Nurse Jackie’s final season.

“No Friends on the Street” is a very thought-provoking episode… I am totally hooked on Power; this may be the first time I actually look forward to spending a Saturday night at home.
