Movie Review: Digging for Fire – Entertaining and Realistic Look at Marriage, Parenthood, and Friendships.
Digging for Fire takes you by surprise in the most unassuming way. It isn’t until after the film is over and you’ve digested what just transpired that you find yourself smiling, thinking about all the nuances you’ve just witnessed. When I first saw the trailer for the film, I was immediately drawn to the mystery of the rusty gun and what appears to be a human bone fragment unearthed in the backyard of a home Tim (Jake Johnson), a public school teacher, and his wife Lee (Rosemarie DeWitt), a yoga instructor, are house-sitting. Needless to say, what ensues throughout Digging for Fire caught me off guard in the most pleasant, unexpected way.

Ray Donovan – “Swing Vote” Retrospective. Major Changes are Afoot.
“Swing Vote” focuses, for the most part, on both Terry and Bunchy’s story arcs, both of which are captivating. But the episode also shakes things up in a major way for Ray both personally and professionally. Given what happens, it will be interesting to see what’s next for Ray and the Finney family.

Power Season Two Finale – “Ghost is Dead” Review. Karma is a Bitch.
“Ghost is Dead” is quite the masterpiece! Writers Safia M. Dirie and Courtney Kemp Agboh, who is also the creator and executive producer of Power, prove how skillful they are with their complex plot points, brilliant dialogue, and twists and turns I never saw coming. Michael J. Bassett’s direction is well executed, particularly with the way he brings Dirie and Agboh’s script to life. In addition, all the stars turn in exceptional performances. The continuity of the scenes flows perfectly, leaving room for speculation on how season two will end.

Dominion – “Reap the Whirlwind” Retrospective. War is Hell.
After watching the latest episode of Dominion, I needed a stiff drink. “Reap the Whirlwind” is one of the series’ most intense episodes so far. David Whele’s (Anthony Head) anarchistic vision for Vega comes at a grave cost that even David himself will live to regret. Meanwhile, in New Delphi, Alex’s (Christopher Egan) fate as “The Chosen One” is put to the test when his plans go awry.
