News: Jeff Orlowski Named First Sundance Institute/Discovery Impact Fellow
John Hoffman, Executive Vice President of Documentaries and Specials, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, and Science Channel, announced award-winning filmmaker Jeff Orlowski (“Chasing Ice”) as the first Sundance Institute | Discovery Impact Fellow at Discovery Channel’s 2016 Sundance Film Festival reception. In addition, Discovery Channel unveiled information on DISCOVERY IMPACT, a slate of groundbreaking documentaries focusing on humankind’s impact on the environment and what individuals and society as a whole can do to solve some of the largest problems facing the planet. Prior to the DISCOVERY IMPACT series launch in 2017, Discovery Channel will premiere DROUGHT as a DISCOVERY IMPACT special in 2016.

TV News: David Schwimmer and Jim Sturgess to Star in AMC’s New Series Feed the Beast Premiering June 5
David Schwimmer will be playing Tommy and Jim Sturgess will be playing Dion. Also cast are Michael Gladis as Patrick Woichik, aka The Tooth Fairy, the soft spoken, brutally intimidating local mobster with a penchant for pulling teeth; Lorenza Izzo, who will play Pilar Herrera, a woman who meets Tommy in a grief group and is desperately searching for true love; Christine Adams, who will star as Tommy’s late wife Rie Moran; John Doman as Tommy’s father Aidan Moran, a shrewd and ruthless businessman and unapologetic racist; and Elijah Jacob as Tommy’s ten-year-old son TJ Moran.

The 100 – “Wanheda Part 1” Recap. Commander of Death?
The 100 returns with some ferocious story lines and even more vicious opponents in the third season. “Wanheda: Part 1” provides a great introduction of what is to come this season (or at least in the next few episodes). “Wanheda: Part 1” is set three months after the terrible disaster at Mount Weather in the season two finale. Things are not so copasetic on the home front. The ark survivors have built their own camp called “Arkadia” and they continue to search for the other drop ship and possible survivors.

TV News: PRISON BREAK To Return To Fox As Ultimate Escapist Event Series
FOX has ordered a thrilling new event series based on its hit series, PRISON BREAK, it was announced today by Dana Walden and Gary Newman, Chairmen and CEOs of Fox Television Group. TV News: EMPIRE Renewed For Third Season
FOX has renewed the blockbuster drama EMPIRE for a third season, it was announced today by Gary Newman and Dana Walden, Chairmen and CEOs, Fox Television Group.
With 35 nominations, EMPIRE is the most-nominated television series this season, and recently was named a Top 10 Television Program of the Year by the American Film Institute. It was the only broadcast series to earn a Golden Globe Award nomination this year in the category of Best Television Series – Drama. Additionally, Taraji P. Henson won the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama. The series also earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media.
