TNT has extended its recent renewal for The Last Ship, adding a fifth season of the epic drama. In July at the Television Critics Association’s Summer Press Tour, TNT and TBS President Kevin Reilly announced The Last Ship had been picked up for a fourth season. The current announcement expands that renewal to a fourth and fifth season, each with 10 episodes. Currently in its third season, the season finale airs Sunday, September 11, 2016.

USA Network today announced a second season renewal for the popular drama QUEEN OF THE SOUTH, with Natalie Chaidez signing on as showrunner. As I watched, I became completely invested in the lives of William “Bill” Harley (Raymond Aramayo), and brothers Arthur “Art” (Bug Hall) and Walter Davidson (Michiel Huisman). The way these three actors interact like true friends felt so organic. The chemistry, the bonding, and the emotions transcend the screen.

Syfy announced a season three renewal for the space action dramas KILLJOYS and DARK MATTER. Both are currently wrapping their second seasons on Syfy: KILLJOYS will air its second season finale tomorrow, Friday, September 2 at 9/8c, while DARK MATTER will air a double episode on Friday, September 9 at 10/9c and 11/10c, and its season two finale on Friday, September 16 at 10/9c.

Discovery Channel announced the purchase of global rights of the revealing documentary SACRED COD. The film will make its world premiere at the 2016 Camden International Film Festival and debut on Discovery in 2017 under the Discovery Impact banner.
An official selection of the 2016 Camden Film Festival, SACRED COD chronicles the collapse of the historic cod fishery in the waters off New England in the United States. Scientists and environmental advocates have attributed the collapse to overfishing, climate change, and government mismanagement. Many of the fishermen — who are losing their livelihoods and way of life as the species have declined — have argued that the science is wrong and have protested government policies that have banned them in recent years from fishing for cod.
