Con News: Long Beach Comic & Horror Con Welcomes John Kricfalusi

Saturday morning cartoons today are nothing like they were in the 80s. Growing up, I watched all the cartoons/shows that Kricfalusi worked on: Jetsons revival, Smurfs, Richie Rich, Super Friends, The New Adventures of Tom and Jerry, Snorks, Flash Gordon, Pac-Man, and Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids. I long for those Saturdays again. And to answer your question, yes, I still watch cartoons every Saturday…thanks to Cartoon Network and Hub replaying some oldies but goodies.

In a press release:

John Kricfalusi creator of Ren & Stimpy to appear at Long Beach

Kricfalusi joins 5th Anniversary event, November 23 & 24, 2013

LONG BEACH, CA (October 14, 2013) – Long Beach Comic and Horror Convention is proud to announce that John Kricfalusi (John K) will appear at the show this year on Saturday, November 23 only, courtesy of Los Angeles based comic shop From the Land Beyond.

John K is the cartoonist who created The Ren & Stimpy Show. Kricfalusi began his career by working on Saturday morning cartoons like the Jetsons revival, Smurfs, Richie Rich, Super Friends, The New Adventures of Tom and Jerry, Snorks, Flash Gordon, Pac-Man, and Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids.

John K also does the voice of both characters for the Ren & Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon (2003). His other voices include: Citracett / Dr. Rootin in The Ripping Friends, Boo Boo in his episodes of Yogi Bear, and Jimmy the Idiot Boy in The Goddamn George Liquor Program.

John K will be taking drawing commissions and doing caricatures of fans at the show.  John K will be signing all day on Saturday only at the From the Land Beyond Booth.

“This is an absolute thrill for us at Long Beach this year. To have John K. at the show is not only fun for me as a fan, but a great thrill for all of the fans.  Our many thanks to John K and Anthony Leano, From the Land Beyond for making it happen.” said Phil Lawrence, Co-Principal and Sales Director.
