BURBANK, California, (July 11, 2013) – Write Brothers, Inc. is partnering with UcreateComics for the “Become Extraordinary” comic book writing competition launching at Comic-Con International in San Diego, July 18th.  Entrants will compete for a one-off comic book writing gig that will be illustrated and distributed by the team at UcreateComics.

Write Brothers Software is excited to announce our sponsorship of UcreateComics’ upcoming “Become Extraordinary” Writing Competition. The completion will open when UcreateComics website goes live to the world on August 8th, 2013. Writers will find entry info at the Write Brothers booth at Comic-Con International (#1429) about this competition – or can go to the website on August 8th to find out more and enter at http://www.ucreatecomics.com/

“This competition is a great opportunity for comic book writers, especially for those launching their careers,” said Chris Huntley, Vice President of Write Brothers Inc.  “Having the winners receive our comic writing software packages sweetens the deal by giving them industry standard tools to improve their craft.”

Writers will be asked to submit their script ideas for the UcreateComics “SuitZ” comic book concept.  The grand prize is a one-issue comic writing contract from UcreateComics paying $1000 and a full suite of Write Brothers writing software valued at over $750. The winning script will be illustrated by UcreateComics in-house artist Steve Legge (valued at $5000) and distributed by UcreateComics.  The winner also receives 20% royalty on the comic issue and a one-year Freelancer membership with UcreateComics.  Two runners up will receive Write Brothers software packages.

“We’re partnering with the Write Brothers to introduce more writers to the creative possibilities of comic books,” explains Donald Lanouette, founder and creative director of UcreateComics. “I hope that the combination of the Write Brothers’ scripting tools and our development fund for new concepts will change the landscape for all writers.”
