Syfy is teaming up with Bryan Singer (X-Men: Days of Future Past) and his Bad Hat Harry Productions to develop a 90-minute pilot script titled Creature at Bay. Singer and Bad Hat’s Jason Taylor will Executive Produce and Creator/Writer John Cabrera will be Co-Executive Producer. The project is from Universal Cable Productions.

Long Beach Comic & Horror Con to announced that Eisner Award nominated artist Darick Robertson will join the 5th anniversary event, on November 23rd and 24th. A famed artist for a number of years, Robertson’s star rose to new heights when he co-created Transmetropolitan with Warren Ellis. Robertson worked on a number of projects for DC and Marvel including Wolverine, Punisher, and The Boys at Dynamite Entertainment.

Movie News: Julien Dubuque International Film Festival Announces Open Call For Early Submissions

Entering into its third year, the Julien Dubuque International Film Festival (JDIFF) is officially open for early submissions. Along with officially opening for submissions, JDIFF also announces some exciting new changes to the Festival in 2014. JDIFF is increasing both the cash prize amounts and categories for winning films. Taking place in Dubuque, Iowa April 24 – 27, 2014, the Festival will award a total of $30,000 in cash prizes over six categories.

TV News: Syfy Greenlights 12 Monkeys To Pilot

Syfy is greenlighting 12 Monkeys, a drama series based on the 1995 Universal Pictures film directed by Terry Gilliam, to pilot. The 60-minute cast-contingent pilot is being produced by Universal Cable Productions and Atlas Entertainment, producer of the original Bruce Willis-Brad Pitt theatrical.

TV News: Syfy Unveils HIGH MOON Additional Casting

Syfy announces additional casting for its upcoming drama pilot, High Moon, inking Peter Macon, Dana Davis and Jonathan Tucker for recurring roles in the 90-minute pilot. Charity Wakefield also signs on for a pilot guest starring role. Co-produced by Universal Cable Productions and Lark Productions, the pilot is set to commence shooting August 26 in Vancouver BC. The project is based on the novel “The Lotus Caves” by John Christopher.
