TV News: Showtime Announces Fall Premiere Date For Homeland and The Affair

SHOWTIME announced that the highly anticipated fifth season of the Emmy® and Golden Globe®-winning hit drama series HOMELAND will premiere on Sunday, October 4th at 9 p.m. ET/PT, followed by the second season premiere of the Golden Globe-winning drama THE AFFAIR at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The network also released the new season key art for HOMELAND’s fifth season.

HBO received 126 Primetime Emmy® nominations, the most of any network for the 15th year in a row, for the upcoming 67th Primetime Emmy Awards®, which were announced today in Los Angeles. “Game of Thrones” led all nominees with 24 nominations, while “Olive Kitteridge” received 13 nominations, and “Bessie” received 12 nominations.

USA Network and UBER Partner To Create Transportation Stunt At Comic-Con for New Drama Colony

USA Network announced today an unprecedented Uber partnership and largest transportation domination stunt to ever hit San Diego’s Comic-Con® for its highly-anticipated drama series, COLONY. The COLONY “Transportation Domination” will provide Comic-Con attendees with complimentary rides using a fleet of hundreds of COLONY branded units including military vehicles and SUVs, bicycles from 23 DecoBike stations and pedicabs, beginning Thursday, July 9 and continuing through Saturday, July 11 from 10:00 AM –10:00 PM PT daily. Universal Cable Productions and Dark Horse Entertainment Sign First-Look Deal

Universal Cable Productions (UCP) continues to expand its powerhouse producing talent and build upon the studio’s genre footprint by signing a first-look deal with legendary comic book publisher, Dark Horse Entertainment (“The Mask,” “Hellboy”). The deal announced today will focus on developing and producing scripted programming from their extensive comics library as well as new material. Discussions for the deal began at Comic Con in 2014 when Dark Horse introduced UCP executives to some of their top writers and artists. Donald Glover Pilot Atlanta Cast Leads As Production Begins

The FX Networks comedy pilot Atlanta has cast its lead actors as production gets underway this month, it was announced today by Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, the Presidents of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Productions. Brian Tyree Henry, Lakeith Lee Stanfield and Zazie Beetz will star in the pilot along with Glover, who created and wrote the pilot. Atlanta revolves around two cousins on their way up through the Atlanta rap scene whose opposing views on art versus commerce, success and race will make their quest anything but easy.

Syfy’s New Game Show Geeks Who Drink Hosted by Zachary Levi Premieres July 16

Syfy invites techies, trekkies and pop culture junkies to play along with Geeks Who Drink, a new weekly game show hosted and executive produced by Zachary Levi, star of NBC’s Chuck and upcoming Heroes Reborn. Fashion Police Welcomes Melissa Rivers As New Co-Host

E! announced today that Melissa Rivers will be the new co-host of E!’s “Fashion Police” when the popular comedy show returns Monday, August 31st. Rivers will appear alongside current panelists Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski, while continuing to serve as executive producer on the series.
