Smithsonian Channel Presents THE WEAPON HUNTER Premiering Oct. 5

History buff and restoration expert Paul Shull goes on a quest to get his hands on some of the world’s rarest and most remarkable pieces of military history in the new Smithsonian Channel original series, THE WEAPON HUNTER. The six episode series chronicles Shull’s adventures as he finds, fixes, and fires the antique weapons that have been used throughout history. THE WEAPON HUNTER premieres Monday, October 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Travel Channel Names New York City Nanny First Ever Travel Channel Star

TV News: KILLJOYS Renewed For Second Season on Syfy

Syfy announced that the acclaimed series Killjoys has been renewed for a second 10-episode season, scheduled to air in 2016. Killjoys follows a trio of interplanetary bounty hunters who chase deadly Warrants (fugitives) throughout the Quad, a distant planetary system on the brink of a bloody class war. The series stars Hannah John-Kamen as Dutch, Luke Macfarlane as D’avin and Aaron Ashmore as John.

TV News: TNT Renews THE LAST SHIP For Third Season Airing Summer 2016

TNT has renewed the hit action-adventure The Last Ship, basic cable’s top scripted series this summer with adults 25-54. Currently airing Sundays at 9 p.m. (ET/PT), The Last Ship stars Eric Dane (Grey’s Anatomy), Rhona Mitra (Strike Back) and Adam Baldwin (Firefly, Chuck). Season 2 will climax with a gripping cliffhanger on Sept. 6. TNT has ordered 13 episodes for the third season, which is slated to launch next summer.

Syfy and UCP Announce Start of Production on New Series Hunters

Syfy and Universal Cable Productions (UCP) announced that production has commenced in Melbourne, Australia on the upcoming thriller series Hunters. The series is from executive producers Gale Anne Hurd (The Walking Dead, The Terminator Trilogy) and Natalie Chaidez (12 Monkeys, Heroes), who will also serve as showrunner, and Emile Levisetti (Royal Pains). Ernest Dickerson (The Walking Dead, Dexter) is set to direct the pilot.

Chiller’s First Original Series Slasher Starts Production

Chiller announced casting and start of production for Slasher, an eight episode, one-hour psychological thriller series from Shaftesbury (also airing on Super Channel in Canada). Slasher, Chiller’s first-ever original series, will be filmed in Sudbury, Parry Sound and Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario until October 2015, with an eye towards a 2016 premiere.
