News: Discovery’s Shark Week 30th Anniversary Premieres July 22.
SHARK WEEK, television’s longest-running event takes a bite out of summer for its 30th anniversary, premiering Sunday July 22 at 7:00PM ET/PT and continuing through Sunday, July 29. News: Freeform Announces Exciting Casting for Christmas Features Life Size 2 and No Sleep ‘Til Christmas.
Freeform doubled down on their promise to make the holiday season bigger than ever by announcing casting for two original holiday movies. Actors Francia Raisa (“grown-ish”), Charles Michael Davis (“Younger”), Sheryl Lee Ralph (“Moesha”), Gavin Stenhouse (“Allegiance”), Shanica Knowles (“The Young & the Restless”), Alphonso McAuley (“The Middle”), Hank Chen (“The New 30”) and Alison Fernandez (“Once Upon a Time”), as well as the previously announced Dave Annable (“Yellowstone”) and Odette Annable (“Supergirl”), have all been cast to star in holiday films airing during Freeform’s “25 Days of Christmas” annual programming event. Both projects will start production this month.

Gravitas Ventures and Narrator Entertainment’s 1/1 (One Over One), a visually daring drama that submerges the viewer into the mind of Lissa (Lindsey Shaw), a 20-year-old girl in rural Pennsylvania and her struggles with sex, drugs, love and loss. Written and directed by Jeremy Phillips, 1/1 will be released July 17 on VOD, DVD and Blu-ray, with extra visual and soundtrack features available on the Blu-ray. The soundtrack was written and produced by the Australian-American rock band, LIARS.

News: TBS’ Final Space Invades 2018 San Diego Comic-Con.
TBS announced that San Diego Comic Con will be the next stop on the Final Space intergalactic circuit. Series creator Olan Rogers along with the cast and producers of the recently renewed epic space opera will descend on fans for an action-packed Q&A about the adventures and mystery of Final Space, including a special fan contest announcement. The panel will be followed by an autograph signing at a separate location.

SHOWTIME announced a brand new satirical half-hour series from comedian Sacha Baron Cohen. Famous for creating a roster of iconic moments and incendiary characters, Baron Cohen returns to series television for the first time in more than a decade, writing and directing WHO IS AMERICA? In the works over the past year, the seven-episode series will explore the diverse individuals, from the infamous to the unknown across the political and cultural spectrum, who populate our unique nation. The first episode will debut on streaming, online and On Demand this Sunday, July 15 at midnight ET (9 p.m. PT July 14) and will premiere on air that same night at 10 p.m. ET/PT, with subsequent episodes airing on Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

HISTORY’s hit drama series “Vikings” returns to San Diego Comic-Con with several exciting opportunities for fans including a cast panel in Ballroom 20 that will reveal an exclusive mid-season five trailer, a Seer inspired booth on the convention floor, and an exclusive SDCC comic book entitled “Vikings: Causor.”

News: Production Begins on Freeform’s New Pilot Everything’s Gonna Be Okay From Josh Thomas.
Freeform officially begins production on the pilot “Everything’s Gonna Be Okay” in Los Angeles. Written by Josh Thomas, the creator of the critically acclaimed, heartwarming dramedy-series “Please Like Me,” the half-hour comedy pilot introduces Nicholas (played by Thomas), a neurotic 25-year-old who suddenly has to grapple with the loss of his father while figuring out how to be a guardian to his two teenage half-sisters. Kayla Cromer, Maeve Press, and Adam Faison join as series regulars.

AMC announced an August 6 premiere date for its original series “Better Call Saul” and “Lodge 49.” Season four of the critically acclaimed and Emmy®-nominated “Better Call Saul,” will air Monday, August 6 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT immediately followed by the series premiere of “Lodge 49” at 10:00 PM ET/PT.
In “Better Call Saul’s” fourth season, Chuck’s death catalyzes Jimmy McGill’s (Odenkirk) transformation into Saul Goodman.
“Lodge 49” is a light-hearted, endearing modern fable set in Long Beach, California about a disarmingly optimistic local ex-surfer, Dud (Russell), who’s drifting after the death of his father and collapse of the family business.

Twentieth Century Fox announced it is joining forces with Tongal, an online creator network, to launch a campaign celebrating the legacy of the Alien franchise – but this time, fans will be driving the spaceship. In honor of Alien’s 40th anniversary, Twentieth Century Fox is seeking visionary super fan filmmakers to produce shorts set after the events of the original movie. The “by the fans, for the fans” campaign asks filmmakers to create wholly original stories that draw on the elements that makes Alien uniquely Alien.

It includes two panels featuring the creators and cast from some of Amazon’s most popular and anticipated series including Carlton Cuse, showrunner and Executive Producer of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan; Ben Edlund creator of The Tick; Sam Esmail director of Homecoming; Neil Gaiman creator, writer, and showrunner of Good Omens; Gale Anne Hurd Executive Producer of Lore; and Naren Shankar showrunner of The Expanse.
