News: Gravitas Ventures Acquires Adam Christian Clark’s Film Newly Single Releasing Dec 7
Gravitas Ventures has acquired North American rights to Adam Christian Clark’s darkly comedic relationship drama NEWLY SINGLE starring Adam Christian Clark (“Caroline and Jackie”), Jennifer Kim (“Mozart in the Jungle”), Molly C. Quinn (“Castle”), and Anna Jacoby-Heron (“Stranger Things”). The film is produced by Adam Hendricks, John Lang, and Greg Gilreath from Divide/Conquer, with Jordan Michaud-Scorza, as well as James Dahl from Modern Man FIlms. NEWLY SINGLE had its festival World Premiere at Tallinn Black Nights Festival in late 2017 and it also just played at CPH-PIX Film Festival in September.

News: Karlie Kloss and Christian Siriano Join Season 17 of Bravo’s Project Runway
Bravo Media’s “Project Runway” has tapped supermodel and entrepreneur Karlie Kloss as the host along with former “Project Runway” champion and celebrated CFDA fashion designer Christian Siriano as the mentor for the newly rebooted Emmy Award-winning franchise. Kloss will also serve as executive producer. In addition, ELLE Editor-in-Chief Nina Garcia returns to the series, joined by famed fashion designer Brandon Maxwell and journalist and former Teen Vogue Editor-in-Chief Elaine Welteroth as judges. The announcement was made today by Shari Levine, Executive Vice President, Current Production, Bravo. The series is currently in pre-production and will premiere in 2019.

Video/Photos: Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 Premieres Jan 17 on CBS All Access
At Comic-Con International, “Star Trek” fans were provided a sneak peek at the highly anticipated season two premiere episode of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY during the series’ Hall H panel with cast and executive producers. The second season is slated to return to CBS All Access in early 2019. STAR TREK: DISCOVERY co-creator and executive producer Alex Kurtzman, who directed the season two premiere, also announced at today’s panel the plan for STAR TREK: SHORT TREKS. The four SHORT TREKS episodes will roll out monthly beginning this fall, and will be stand-alone stories, each running approximately 10-15 minutes. Each short will be an opportunity for deeper storytelling and exploration of key characters and themes which fit into STAR TREK: DISCOVERY and the expanding “Star Trek” universe.

News: Fox Orders Additional Nine Episodes For Season 2 of Medical Drama The Resident
FOX has ordered nine additional episodes of the sophomore series THE RESIDENT, raising the second season order to 22 episodes. News: The CW Announces Original Programming for Summer 2019
Continuing to bulk up its slate of original summer programming, The CW Network has acquired the British action drama BULLETPROOF from Sky Vision and ordered second seasons of the legal drama BURDEN OF TRUTH, starring Kristin Kreuk, and the fantasy-adventure series THE OUTPOST; all are set to air in Summer 2019. The CW has also ordered new seasons of the hit magic series PENN & TELLER: FOOL US and MASTERS OF ILLUSION, and the classic improv comedy WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY? for Summer 2019. Premiere dates and times will be announced later.

News/Video: Bravo’s Limited Series Dirty John Premieres November 25
Julia Garner (“Ozark”) and Juno Temple (“Vinyl,” “Wonder Wheel,” “Black Mass”) have joined the cast of Bravo Media’s “Dirty John” as the daughters of Debra Newell (Connie Britton), who are both skeptical about their mother’s relationship with John Meehan (Eric Bana). Joining the previously announced Jean Smart who will play Debra’s mother Arlane, Garner will star as Terra Newell, while Temple will star as Veronica Newell. The scripted anthology series, based on the articles and breakout true crime podcast of the same name from Los Angeles Times reporter Christopher Goffard, tells the true story of how Debra’s romance with the charismatic John Meehan spiraled into secrets, denial and manipulation.
