Greg Staffa

I provide testosterone to the site. You won’t be reading about how nice a actress looks in a dress or how much of a hunk Matt Bomer is in my reviews. I describe colors using words like brown, not taupe. My twitter name is @staffaroadtrip because I love road trips and have done two different 48-state road trips since 2008. My favorite show is White Collar.

Fargo Season Finale – “Palindrome” Recap. Absolute Sovereignty.

The Goldbergs – “A Christmas Story” Recap. Super Hanukkah.

Envious about how neighbors Virginia (Jennifer Irwin) and the rest of the Kremp family go all out for Christmas, Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) tries to spice up the Goldberg household in a similar fashion. There’s only one problem; they’re Jewish.

Having apprehended Ed (Jesse Plemons) and Peggy Blumquist (Kirsten Dunst) outside their jurisdiction in South Dakota, Lou (Patrick Wilson) and Hank (Ted Danson) reluctantly hand the couple over to Captain Jeb Cheney (Wayne Duvall). With Ohanzee (Zahn McClarnon) on the run and Mike Milligan (Bokeem Woodbine) heading to Sioux Falls, Cheney decides his best bet for capturing those involved in the ongoing war between the Gerhardts and the Kansas City Mafia is to use Ed and Peggy as bait.

Will Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) shoot down his dreams of getting a cool nickname and playing countless games of beach volleyball (like in the movie) or will she allow him to feel the need, the need for speed?

On the last episode of Fargo, Ed Blumquist (Jesse Plemons) was arrested and interrogated at the police station while Hank (Ted Danson) questioned Peggy (Kirsten Dunst) at their home. CBS Orders More Supergirl

Supergirl is one of my favorite new shows this season so you can imagine how happy I am about CBS’ announcement today for an order of seven more episodes. This brings the Supergirl season to a total of 20 episodes for its freshman season.

Fargo – “Did You Do This? No, You Did It!” Recap. Manifest Destiny.

“Did You Do This? No, You Did It!” opens with a bang, literally, as the war between the Gerhardts and the Kansas City mafia reaches a critical level. Set to “Locomotive Breath” by Jethro Tull, a montage of assassinations on both sides shows how out of control the fight has become. Will the remaining cooler heads be able to negotiate peace or will things continue to escalate until only one side is left standing?

FX Orders Third Installment of Fargo

FX has announced a third installment of Noah Hawley’s award-winning limited series Fargo. Little is known about where and when the third season will take place but it’s safe to assume there will be murder and mayhem.

The Goldbergs – “In Conclusion, Thanksgiving” Recap. Ninja Pilgrim.

Thanksgiving on The Goldbergs is here again and in keeping with tradition, it means one thing—the return of Uncle Marvin (Dan Fogler). Will Marvin’s visit create chaos or will the holiday meal be a peaceful and thankful time for family?

Charlie (Allan Dobrescu) is also arrested for his part in the botched assassination attempt on Ed.

Jim Henson’s Turkey Hollow, A Lifetime Original Movie – Review. Gobble Gobble.

In 1968, Jim Henson, along with his writing partner Jerry Juhl, wrote a screenplay for a Thanksgiving special titled “The Musical Monsters of Turkey Hollow.” Henson created the puppets and his daughters Lisa and Cheryl operated the creatures during a screen test.

The Goldbergs – “Lucky” Recap. Secret of Womanhood.

Growing up, my family never had pets, not even a fish. Turns out Murray (Jeff Garlin) has a no pet policy similar to the one my parents had but with one slight difference. Instead of telling Barry (Troy Gentile) no as a child, he was told the family couldn’t get a dog because he’s deathly allergic to them. Watching Barry and Murray go at it after Barry finally learns the truth following a near death experience involving a smothering of puppy kisses is hilarious.

Fargo – “The Gift of the Magi” Review. Butcher of Luverne.

Tension escalates between the Gerhardts and the Kansas City mafia (KC mafia) after negotiations fall apart. As both sides prepare for war, Peggy (Kirsten Dunst) and Ed (Jesse Plemons) try to figure out what to do after learning the Gerhardt family might be onto them. Meanwhile, Lou’s (Patrick Wilson) investigation is put on hold when he is assigned to escort a politician passing through the state.

The deadline approaches for Floyd (Jean Smart) and the rest of the Gerhardt family to decide whether to accept the offer by the Kansas City Mafia or face all-out war. Can the two sides come to an agreement, or will Dodd’s (Jeffrey Donovan) temper wreak havoc on the negotiations? Meanwhile, Ohanzee (Zahn McClarnon) inches closer to figuring out what happened to Rye (Kieran Culkin).

The Goldbergs – “Couples Costume” Recap. Mork and Indy.

Beverly’s (Wendi McLendon-Covey) tradition of wearing a Halloween costume that complements whatever Adam (Sean Giambrone) designs for himself is in jeopardy when Adam’s girlfriend Dana (Natalie Alyn Lind) visits from Seattle.

Fargo – “The Myth of Sisyphus” Recap. The Standoffs.

Unaware of Rye’s (Kieran Culkin) fate, the race to find him intensifies as the mafia, police, and his family all try to find him first. With the body disposed of, one wonders if the tension will calm down over time or continue to escalate. Given Fargo’s history, it’s safe to assume the latter.

The Goldbergs – “Boy Barry” Recap. The Mug Rug.

The bromance between Murray (Jeff Garlin) and his friend Bill (David Koechner) reaches a new level when Bill convinces Murray to grow a mustache like his. The confidence that comes with Murray’s added facial hair doesn’t sit well with Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey), especially when Murray starts making his own decisions and ignoring her input. Will Beverly win back Murray’s attention or will the power of the ‘stache’ prove to be too much?

Fargo – Next on: The Myth of Sisyphus.

The Gerhardts’ search for Rye intensifies, Lou (Patrick Wilson) takes a trip to Fargo, and Peggy (Kirsten Dunst) overhears a new theory about the Waffle Hut shooter.
