Dream chaser extraordinaire! Judy tends to be a tad sarcastic and kind of goofy! She is an avid admirer of all things supernatural, paranormal, celestial and mystical. She loves to read, write, and watches way too much TV. She enjoys many genres of film and music (and let's be honest, most music from the 80s). She also has a wicked sweet tooth. Cupcakes beware.

The Walking Dead – “The Key” Recap. Batter Up!

The Walking Dead – “The Key” Recap. Batter Up! 2

To care or not to care about others? That is the burning (all puns intended) question. This week’s installment of The Walking Dead is full of malicious back stabbing, duplicitous acts, burning bats and walkers, naked walkers, and a new group that could be friendly. All in all, “The Key” provides some interesting points of view from several characters.

Siren takes us inside Bristol Cove – a coastal town known for its legend of once being home to mermaids. When the arrival of a mysterious girl (played by Eline Powell) proves this folklore all too true, the battle between man and sea takes a very vicious turn as these predatory beings return to reclaim their right to the ocean.

The Walking Dead – “Dead or Alive or…” Review. To Have Faith or Not.

The Walking Dead – “Dead or Alive or...” Review. To Have Faith or Not. 4

Call me crazy, but I liked this week’s installment of The Walking Dead. While I’m not religious, the message in “Dead or Alive or…” has dual meaning. Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) wants Dr. Carson (R. Keith Harris) to have “faith” that God is watching over them, guiding them to “salvation;” however, it can also mean these jaded and embittered survivors need to believe in each other. Whatever your creed may be, “Dead or Alive or…” provides a much needed reprieve from the onslaught of flashbacks, flash-forwards, and everything in between that has confused many this season (I know I’m not alone). However, this episode doesn’t have a flash-anything, and I’m more than OK with that.

The Walking Dead – “The Lost and the Plunderers” Review. What the Hell is Going On?

The Walking Dead – “The Lost and the Plunderers” Review. What the Hell is Going On? 6

Am I alone in my confusion? I can’t be the only person to find something amiss with The Walking Dead. Watching “The Lost and the Plunderers” put me further into a confused state of mind as I tried to figure out where the hell the writers are going this season. The cryptic, pseudo-future scenes that have been peppered throughout the season are nothing more than the imagined alternate reality Carl (Chandler Riggs) dreamed up in his head. It’s not going to happen. No matter how much the various groups try, that delusional utopian vision will not come to fruition. The kumbaya combined colonization of AKH (Alexandria, Kingdom, Hilltop groups), The Saviors, Oceanside, hell, even the Scavengers, aka the “garbage people,” won’t happen. If it does, that will be the end of The Walking Dead; everyone getting along, picking veggies from the garden, with only walkers to contend with sounds boring.

The Walking Dead – Mid-Season Premiere “Honor.” Review. Goodbye Carl, Hello Negan?

The Walking Dead – Mid-Season Premiere “Honor.” Review. Goodbye Carl, Hello Negan? 10

The Walking Dead mid-season premiere heavily peppers in some tear jerker moments as we all say goodbye to Carl (Chandler Riggs). That’s not a spoiler. The entire “90-minute” episode goes back and forth between flashbacks to previous episodes, flash-forwards to a bright yet surreal future, and the present. So much happens in “Honor,” this would technically be a recap if I began to get into all the various storylines folded into the episode. The heart of “Honor” is saying goodbye to Carl.

After the traumatic events in the penultimate episode, “Chapter 8: The Mind Flayer,” the season two finale, “Chapter 9: The Gate,” dedicates two-thirds of the episode to vanquishing the evil “shadow monster.” This finale is packed with so many great moments. Stranger Things – “Chapter 8: The Mind Flayer” Recap. Spy vs Spy. 18

As penultimate episodes go, “Chapter 8: The Mind Flayer” doesn’t disappoint. At times, penultimate episodes are better than the season finale because all the story lines converge into a pinnacle of chaos. People die, people cry, and people fight, and fight hard. “Chapter 8: The Mind Flayer” complements the season finale, “Chapter 9: The Gate,” but doesn’t overshadow it. It makes you anxious to see how everything will turn out and makes you wonder who will be left standing when the dust settles. But, I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s dive into this exciting episode.

Stranger Things – “Chapter 7: The Lost Sister” Review. Home Sweet Home.

Stranger Things – “Chapter 7: The Lost Sister” Review. Home Sweet Home. 19

In the season two premiere, “Chapter 1: Madmax,” we saw a group of people exiting a building and one particular young girl who caused a tunnel to collapse, or so we thought. That girl, Kali (Linnea Berthelsen), plays a major role in “Chapter 7: The Lost Sister.” If the title doesn’t give it away, let me explain. Kali and Eleven, aka “El,” (Millie Bobby Brown) have a connection.

The Walking Dead – Mid-Season Finale “How It’s Gotta Be.” Recap. Hope For What?

The Walking Dead – Mid-Season Finale “How It’s Gotta Be.” Recap. Hope For What? 20

The Walking Dead mid-season finale has come and gone, and I’m still unsure of how I feel about it. I expected so much more this season, yet I find myself confused and conflicted. Looking back at the past seven episodes leading up to “How It’s Gotta Be,” I wonder if I’ve missed something in translation with the numerous and overused flashbacks utilized throughout the season so far. What am I missing, because this shit makes no sense at all?

The Walking Dead – “Time For After” Review. The Winning Side?

The Walking Dead – “Time For After” Review. The Winning Side? 21

If you were hoping for a Eugene (Josh McDermitt) centric episode, then “Time For After” is it. Probably not that many of you asked, but all Eugene (well, mostly Eugene) is what you get. My acronym for the groups (Alexandria, Kingdom, Hilltop) A.K.H. isn’t too far off Eugene’s “AHK” (Alexandria, Hilltop, Kingdom). But the real crux of “Time For After” lies in the actions and decisions of a mullet-sporting coward who doesn’t know what’s what. But he’s chosen his side. Is it the “winning side” as Dwight (Austin Amelio) puts it, with Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the A.K.H. group? Well, I think you’ll figure it out after you read this review.

Stranger Things – “Chapter 6: The Spy” Review. Totally Tubular.

Stranger Things – “Chapter 6: The Spy” Review. Totally Tubular. 22

Things are starting to take a darker turn in Hawkins, Indiana and Will (Noah Schnapp) is at the epicenter of the “Shadow Monster’s” master plan. The monster invaded Will’s body at the end of “Chapter 3: The Pollywog” to protect itself and its interests in taking over Hawkins. In the opening scene of “Chapter 6: The Spy,” we see Will being wheeled into the Hawkins lab. Throughout the episode, Will’s docile persona takes on a disturbing metamorphosis, one that will cost many people their lives.

The Walking Dead – “The King, the Widow, and Rick” Review. Stupid Is As Stupid Does.

The Walking Dead – “The King, the Widow, and Rick” Review. Stupid Is As Stupid Does. 24

Is it just me or is this season going off the rails a bit? I’m not even sure whether I like this episode or not. I borrowed a famous quote from Forrest Gump because it’s the only quote that explains the stupidity happening within “The King, the Widow, and Rick.” Season 8 of The Walking Dead is not panning out the way I thought it would. Hell, I don’t even remember what I was thinking anymore. The tagline says “All Out War,” and while we saw some of that in “Mercy,” all I see now is a bunch of flashbacks (seriously, enough already) and whining among the groups. “The King, the Widow, and Rick” leads you to believe that there are only three major story lines but this episode is chock full of everything and everybody.
