HBO has released the second trailer to of the its highly anticipated sci-fi Western series, Westworld. Based on the 1973 film of the same name, Westworld is the story of a futuristic Western-themed amusement park where guests pay to live out fantasies brought to life by sophisticated life-like robots. It isn’t long before the androids begin to malfunction and start killing people.
This past March during SXSW, I attended a panel featuring director J.J. Abrams, who serves as executive producer for the upcoming HBO series. During his the panel, Abrams showed several minutes of never-before-seen footage from Westworld. Visually stunning barely sums up what I saw but for now, the new trailer will have to hold you over.
Westworld premieres this fall and includes stars Anthony Hopkins, Evan Rachel Wood, Ed Harris, James Marsden, and Thandie Newton.
