NEW YORK – August 22, 2013 – Syfy’s hit unscripted series Ghost Mine dusts off its blasting caps and infrared cameras to dig even deeper into the mine’s paranormal mystery when   Season 2 premieres Wednesday, September 4 at 10PM (ET/PT).

Before the new mine action begins, Syfy will air the one-hour special Ghost Mine: Back on the Mountainat 9PM (ET/PT). Hosted by Adam Copeland (Haven), the special gathers the miners and investigators around the campfire for a spirited conversation about the highs – and lows – of the previous season and first-hand accounts of the creepiest moments. It also includes never-before-seen footage from Season 1.

In the 12 episode second season of Ghost Mine, the hardened team of gold miners and paranormal investigators head back to Eastern Oregon’s Crescent Mine to continue their search for fortune and phantoms at the notoriously haunted mine. Located near the historic gold mining community of Sumpter, Oregon, the Crescent Mine is believed to contain high amounts of gold.

In the season premiere, titled “Return to Darkness,” the Ghost Mine crew battles the elements in hopes of striking it rich while delving further into the mysterious history of the mine and revealing new information about the recurring Masonic symbols, Native American presence and a spirit named “Joe,” all of which were uncovered last season.

The Crescent Mine welcomes a few additions to the team this year including the surprise return of a familiar face, a third generation miner joining his father and grandfather in Sumpter, an upgraded model of the popular RIPA (Remote Investigator of Paranormal Activity), and a four-legged excavation expert – a pooch named “Little Boy.”

Ghost Mine is produced by 51 Minds with Mark Cronin (Celebrity Paranormal Project, Flavor of Love, Rock of Love with Bret Michaels), Dave Caplan, Jay Bluemke (Ghost Hunters, Ghost Hunters Academy) and Phil Davis (Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files) serving as Executive Producers.
