(New York, NY — January 31, 2018) – Using cutting-edge science as the foundation for outrageous stunts and practical jokes, SCIJINKS, the all-new science prank show hosted by Johnny Galecki, will premiere on Discovery and Science Channel this spring. Galecki orchestrates a team of inventive scientists who use science to feed people’s minds, and to mess with their heads. Galecki’s Alcide Bava Productions, and A. Smith & Co. Productions is producing the series.

Galecki, along with science prankologists Tamara Robertson and Jason Latimer, test out science on unsuspecting marks, drawing from chemistry, physics, technology, engineering and more, with never-before-seen pranks that will introduce audiences to remarkable and unusual scientific discoveries. From showcasing classic chemical reactions under the guise of a cooking class, to controlling the movement of objects with their brains using electroencephalography, the pranks not only contain mind-blowing science, but a heaping dose of chaos too.

“I am humbled and excited to work closely on this show with some of the scientists and STEM students I’ve had the pleasure of meeting over the past decade. It’s a great opportunity to put these amazing folks in the spotlight, erase some of the stereotypes of people in the sciences and it’s resulted in a show that is a whole lot of fun,” said Galecki.

With a professional acting career that spans more than 25 years, Johnny Galecki is best known for his roles on two hugely popular television series, Roseanne and The Big Bang Theory. He currently stars on the CBS sitcom, which is airing Season 11. As socially awkward physicist Leonard Hofstadter, Galecki has garnered an Emmy and Golden Globe nomination, along with those from the Critic’s Choice Awards, People’s Choice Awards and four consecutive ensemble nominations by the Screen Actors Guild Awards, among others. Along with numerous television movies, his credits include guest roles on My Name is Earl and Entourage, as well as lending his voice to such animated series as American Dad! and Family Guy.

Galecki portrayed band manager Terry Ork in the 2013 indie movie CBGB about the legendary punk rock club in New York City, and appeared in Peter Berg’s superhero film Hancock. Other film credits include the Don Roos films The Opposite of Sex, Bounce and Happy Endings, Cameron Crowe’s Vanilla Sky, the hit horror film I Know What You Did Last Summer, Suicide Kings, Playing Mona Lisa and the comedy classic National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, playing Rusty, the son of dad Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase).

A longtime patron of the theater, Galecki has himself been involved in live theater since age six. Among numerous credits, he starred in Douglas Carter Beane’s Tony-nominated Broadway play The Little Dog Laughed, receiving a Theater World Award for outstanding Broadway debut. His other theater credits include The Drawer Boy and Pot Mom at Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theater, Galileo at the Goodman Theater and The Member of the Wedding, for which he was nominated for a Joseph Jefferson Award at the age of eleven.

I’ve been a longtime fan of Johnny Galecki, ever since his days as David on Roseanne. Now, along with his starring role as Leonard on The Big Bang Theory, Galecki will appear in, and executive produce, SciJinks (WT), scheduled to premiere on the Science Channel in the last quarter of 2017. With the never-before-seen stunts and practical jokes that are planned, this is sure to be a hit, and I can’t wait!

(New York) – Johnny Galecki will appear in and executive produce SCIJINKS (wt), a new Science Channel series scheduled to premiere in 4th quarter 2017. SCIJINKS will use cutting-edge science as the foundation for outrageous stunts and practical jokes, creating the smartest prank show on television. The announcement was made today by Marc Etkind, General Manager of Science Channel.

Galecki will orchestrate a team of brilliant and inventive scientists drawing from chemistry, physics, technology, engineering and more, with never-before-seen pranks designed to introduce audiences to remarkable and unusual scientific discoveries. Along with Galecki, each of the eight, 30 minute episodes will be guided by scientists, physicists and stem students. Galecki’s Alcide Bava Productions and A. Smith & Co. Productions will produce the series.
