TV News: Ghost Adventures – New Season, New Night

Share

I’m a huge fan of the paranormal and subsequently any shows that happen to be about paranormal investigation or the history of paranormal activity. Travel Channel’s Ghost Adventures is one such show. I know many have reservations about some of these shows, but many of the investigations are done at sites that have been known for being haunted or have paranormal type activity being reported. Either way, Ghost Adventures is fun, engaging, they use a lot of great equipment, and the guys are all passionate about what they do. Whether you believe in the paranormal or not, the show is entertaining.

CHEVY CHASE, MD (January 14, 2014) – Saturday nights just got a whole lot scarier! This winter, lock down with the “Ghost Adventures” trio – Zak Bagans, Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin – as they investigate intriguing new haunted locations. Moving to a brand-new night of the week, season nine premieres Saturday, February 15 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT and features thirteen hour-long episodes; new episodes continue Saturday nights thereafter.  In each episode, the “Ghost Adventures” team travels to a different haunted destination where they meet with locals, eyewitnesses and experts in an attempt to piece together the haunted history of each site. They then begin a dusk-to-dawn “lockdown” investigation, using the latest scientific gadgets and technology in an effort to obtain physical evidence of the paranormal and uncover the truth behind each haunted mystery.

“Each season we push the barriers on paranormal investigating – physically, personally, emotionally, scientifically,” said Zak Bagans, lead investigator. “Our experiences affect us well beyond what viewers see in each episode – it doesn’t just end when we turn the equipment off. But each investigation puts Nick, Aaron and I one step closer to understanding the afterlife and the haunted mysteries of the locations we visit. It’s exciting and terrifying all at once.”

In the season nine premiere, Zak Bagans, Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin explore the Oman House – a Los Angeles home ridden with paranormal activity believed to be directly related to the infamous Sharon Tate murder by Charles Manson’s cult of followers in 1969 – which took place just 200 feet from the property. The team discovers the home also sits atop a Native American burial ground and on a geomagnetic anomaly. Reports include objects moving on their own; sightings of a pregnant, bleeding female apparition walking around outside the home thought to be Sharon Tate herself; and those who enter the house have feelings of overwhelming physical pain and illness. As the lockdown begins, a powerful, negative energy shrouds the space – along with disembodied voices and objects falling over on their own. When Groff experiences burning sensations and severe stomach pains, he’s forced to leave the home. What the team documents leaves more questions than answers.

Upcoming episodes include a special investigation of Bannack, MT – a lawless, Old West mining-turned-ghost-town with a gruesome, violent past; New York City’s Morris-Jumel Mansion, a historic haunt rich with American history and soap opera drama; Katie’s Bar in Long Island, NY – a local pub with paranormal activity that is frightening employees; the Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville, LA – a 215 year-old property that is one of America’s most famous haunted locations; a former cement factory with a dark past in Salt Lake City, UT, which now houses a Halloween fun house with real-life frights; and more.

“Ghost Adventures” is produced by My Tupelo Entertainment for Travel Channel.  For My Tupelo, the executive producers are Michael Yudin, Joe Townley, Zak Bagans and Nick Groff.  For Travel Channel, the executive producer is Daniel A. Schwartz.

Dream chaser extraordinaire! Judy tends to be a tad sarcastic and kind of goofy! She is an avid admirer of all things supernatural, paranormal, celestial and mystical. She loves to read, write, and watches way too much TV. She enjoys many genres of film and music (and let's be honest, most music from the 80s). She also has a wicked sweet tooth. Cupcakes beware.
