KENNY LOGGINS TO GUEST STAR IN USA NETWORK’S CRITICALLY-ACCLAIMED

COMEDY ‘PLAYING HOUSE’

Highly Anticipated Second Season to Premiere August 4, 2015 at 10 /9c

 

UNIVERSAL CITY, CA – June 25, 2015 –  Legendary and beloved award-winning singer-songwriter Kenny Loggins has been tapped to guest star in the second  season of USA Network’s critically-acclaimed half-hour comedy series PLAYING HOUSE. Loggins will appear as himself in the highly-anticipated season finale on Tuesday, September 8 with back-to-back episodes, beginning at 10/9c.

 

One of the most memorable through-lines in season one of PLAYING HOUSE was the bond Emma (Jessica St. Clair) and Maggie (Lennon Parham) shared singing their favorite Loggins tunes.  Now season two culminates as the best friends have the chance of a lifetime to go to one of his concerts.  When things don’t go as they planned, the diehard fans will it all to get closer to their musical inspiration and into the “Danger Zone.”

 

Over the last four decades, multiple Grammy Award-winner Kenny Loggins has sold over 25 million albums worldwide, and has had 15 albums go Platinum with such unforgettable hits, “This Is It,” “I’m Alright” (“Caddyshack”), “Footloose”(“Footloose”), ”Danger Zone” (“Top Gun”), ”Conviction of the Heart,” ”Whenever I Call You Friend,” “Danny’s Song,” “It’s About Time,” and many others.  In addition to his string of successful recordings, both solo and as one-half of the famed duo, Loggins & Messina, Loggins became the first major rock star to dedicate himself to recording music for children and families. His album “Return to Pooh Corner” remains the best-selling children’s album of the last 20 years. Loggins is a deeply committed environmentalist with a long history of advocating for the planet and green parenting—wrote a passionate plea for change called “Conviction of the Heart” that appeared on his 1991 album  “Leap of Faith.”  Kenny lives in Santa Barbara, California, has five children and one grandchild.

The critically acclaimed comedy PLAYING HOUSE returns for a season two with an innovative windowing structure that, each week, will allow viewers to preview next week’s episode on their Video-On-Demand platforms.  Childhood best friends Maggie Caruso (Lennon Parham) and Emma Crawford (Jessica St. Clair) are in store for one of their biggest adventures yet – raising a baby.  This season, Maggie and Emma navigate their way through life as co-parents to Maggie’s daughter Charlotte. The colorful residents of Pinebrook, CT also return including Emma’s first love Mark (Keegan Michael Key) and her eccentric mom, Gwen (Jane Kaczmarek).   The series is from Universal Cable Productions, in addition to St. Clair and Parham, PLAYING HOUSE is executive produced by Ravi Nandan of A24 Films (“Hesher”) and Scot Armstrong of American Work, Inc. (“Old School,” “Hangover 2”).
